What does everyone think of those belts you can get to "exercise" your abs? Do they work? I've always been curious about them.  I'm fine working my abs normally, although I don't know if I'm doing it right.  Would they be helpful at all?

I think they cause you to burst into flame.  But besides that I guess they are alright.  Pick and choose I suppose!

I think they are rediculous

If you are referring to the ones that elect shock the muscles to contract them...dont laugh but I was STUPID enough to fall for that quick weight loss instant ab belt concept...after a few days of personal trying here was my assessment:

1.  IT DOESNT WORK

2.  It does shock you and it did cause burn spots (thats right - burn spots) on my skin.

3.  It had NO effect on my weight and it had no effect on my abs (which was covered up by about 70lbs of fat)

4.  The money back guarantee is a sham.  It took the company 3 years to finally send me a check.  This was only after several letters to the BB and countless hours on the phone and by mail.

BOTTOMLINE:  DO NOT (REPEAT) DO NOT BUY IT!

Thats funny cause i have been eyeing this thing for a while.... But instead i bought  the Core Rhythms dvd's... in the begining of the dvds it seemed cool but then it went into dance mode and was so fast i was like what the h**k... Totally lost!!!!! WHY O WHY DO I KEEP BUYING THIS JUNK I have soooooo many dvds my husband thinks i'm addicted to buying exercise dvd's LOL   (i think he might be right)Embarassed

Hehe, I remember I worked at a big department store when these things first came out and a lot of overweight people were buying them.  I definitely did not see those people come in a few weeks later (still overweight) with rocking abs...because the machines are silly.  Too many people try and advertise a 'quick and easy' fix, when there really isn't one.

I've heard it can be a nice muscle massage though...

Anyone try the weighted hula hoop? Undecided

Yeah. Me too. I had the exact same thought: "That's ridiculous."

Nope, but that actually would work, makes sense and probably doesn't cost a ba-jillion bucks.  Hula hoop by itself is a good workout.

Yeah. They sound neat though.

Is jump roping as good an exercise as running?
