i'm looking to really focus on toning up my mid- section (aren't we all?) and i'd love to know if someone has a good ab workout routine they'd like to share!

thanks!

from my experience yesterday, yoga is a good everything workout.
I am so sooooore!
have you tried the big excersize ball that one i tried and it is really good for the mid section good for your arms and legs also you should look for one with a excersize dvd !
good idea, elaine! i'll have to do some research online to find some specific moves.

thanks for the suggestion!
crunches- 2 sets x 15 reps

seated twists with a 5 lb medicine ball- 2 sets x 15 reps (30 side to side)

leg raises- 2 sets x 15 reps

always focus on your breathing, and contraction of your abs, do not swing yourself up with your back or swing your legs up using your leg muscles.  keep you lower back flat of the floor when doing crunches and leg raises. do slow movements.  I do this twice a week. sometime I do my crunches on a ball or hold a medicine ball.  I do lying and hanging leg raises.  twist I do on the floor or on a reverse incline bench.

good luck!
PILATES!

Get any pilates DVD there will surely be a section just focusing on abs but all of pilates works your abs (along with other muscles). There are entire pilates dvds that just focus on abs as well.

Crunches, sit-ups, ball exercises, roman chair, sit up bench...I've tried/done it all...and yes they all work. But to seriously sculpt long, lean, tight abs pilates is the best by far.

Good luck! =)
I like videos and I love Tamilee's "I want that body"
She has two ab works but also two levels for
buns and arms.

There are several different types of crunches in the workouts.

I do the firm, and the ab portions of the videos are definately a challenge, but the results I've seen are amazing, not to mention the results you'll see on the rest of your body!!
