I have had abdominal pain on and off for the past few years and it has gotten worse recently. I have gone to the doctor many times I have had ultra sounds, X-rays, blood tests, pregnancy tests and everything always comes back normal. Now dont get me wrong its good to hear and see that I'm healthy but they cant figure out what the pain is from. The pain is usually in my lower right abdomin and sometimes in the lower left, it also hurts when there is pressure on my stomach (laying on my belly or someone laying on my stomach or anything else that puts pressure on my stomach). I was wondering if anyone had anything simmilar, or if anyone had any ideas of something I could research myself and bring to my doctor. Thank you in advance for your suggestions/advice.

I get very severe pain, menstrual-like, over the past year or so and it is getting increasingly worse.  Either right or left side, but never both sides at once.  I have PCOS and my doctor has told me that the pain is likely (but not necessarily) because of this, but was concerned with how much pain I was in.  I have done ultrasounds, blood work and a contrast CT, and (other than cysts) they saw nothing.

I have some pretty hardcore pain meds, but other than that, I don't know anything that will help the pain.

I'm not sure if that even helps, but at least you know you're not alone, I guess...

Does it hurt all the time or only sometimes?  Also to rule in or out Endometriosis, are your periods very heavy and or very painful?

periods are pretty light and can be fairly painfull. it hurts most of the time but i get sharp alot lately.

This might sound weird and might have nothing to do with your problem, but do you get the pain about once a month and it only last for a few days? Some women get really bad cramps when they ovulate- I do. It's only on one side at a time because you only release an egg from one side each month and normally you alternate which side every month. I always know when I'm starting ovulation because of this 'lovely' reminder. You say the pain is mostly on one side, so this may not be the issue,  but just something to think about. About 15% of women experience pain during ovulation. It's uncomofortable but usually nothing to be worried about.

My aunt and I both have asymptomatic endometriosis. So, even if your period is light and frequently doesn't come with cramps (like mine) then you could still have it. The only way to tell (without surgery) is your hormone levels.

Aside from that...I get cramps, like menstrual-type cramps, when I run hard...weird... I feel ovulation, too, though its not painful, persay..and its not that...

yes people who don't run often normally get menstrual like pains anytime they run...those who run often only do if they up their speed a bit or run longer...

and ovulation definately could be a possiblity, every few months i'll get ovulation pains and its pretty painful! also, i've heard of women who only release an egg from one side...which could be the case with you

Yeah, I was sprinting that day and I usually jog. Thanks, I was wondering what that was...

Also, my friend had some bad pain in her lower abdomen and thought it was a swollen lymph node, They're checking her out next week to see if its a hernia.

I'd suggest you keep a diary of when the pain occurs to see if it is cyclical.  If mid-cycle then it's probably linked with ovulation.

If it worsens around your menstrual cycle then it could be a pocket of endometriosis.  As other posters have mentioned it is possible to have a light period and have endometriosis.

Other symptoms to look out for are whether you have bowel or bladder problems when the pain is worse.  Sometimes endometriosis can cause bladder problems (if there is endometrial tissue on the bladder for example).
