I'm sorry if this has been posted before, I looked, but didn't find it..

I really want abs! I have been doing around 400-500 sit ups a day (not consecutive), and I've been eating drinking lots of protein shakes and eating lots of egg whites, and I even manage to down cottage cheese, which I hate, just for the extra protein (I'm vegetarian), so I end up getting around 60-75 grams of protein a day.

Anyways, any suggestions on how to get abs? What do I need to do differently? How long will it take haha.

EDIT: turns out that I'm gettng 60-75g of protein a day, haha. I just looked at a whole bunch of nutrition labels of foods that I eat regularly, and they have alot more protein than I thought, woo hoo!

You already have abs (unless you've been through a major league amputation...)

If you want your abs to be more visable, you need to lose fat which is best accomplished through diet.

All the sit-ups/crunches/etc in the world won't make your abs more visable.

You should also probably look at the Hierarchy of Fatloss.

Yup, you gotta drop body fat. I can see my six pack now, but it's still covered by a thin sheet of fat. I figure another 6 pounds drop or so, and my six pack will be in full effect. Can't wait!

ummm 25 grams of protein? thats it?

definitely triple your protein alteast double it   25 isnt nearly enough

I went from having about two handfuls of fat on my stomach to having a four pack in 4 weeks doing what I'm about to tell you.  My diet is 40% protein 25% fat and 35% carbs; for you.  I do weight lifting and cardio every day.  Among my exercises are five ab exercises: captain's chair, the ab wheel, planks, jackknives, and sit-ups; however, that's just central abs, you also need to work your obliques if you want that serious definition.  My oblique exercises include: standing side crunches (take a weight around 30 lbs, put your hand on your hip and use your core to lean that direction; then switch sides and repeat), planks, oblique sit-ups, and obliques on the ab wheel (veering off to the side).

If you're on a 1400 calorie diet, you need about 135 grams of protein.  This will give your abs the tools they need to build/tone.

One of the most important things is exercise variety.  On arm/shoulder days I do jackknives, captain's chair, sit-ups, standing side crunches, and oblique sit-ups.  On chest/back days I do the ab wheel, planks, sit-ups, and obliques on the ab wheel.

Good luck and feel free to mail me if you have any questions.
