absent period?!?
Sorry for posting another topic on this, but I felt my query was different from another post I found on teenage dieters and absent periods.
I was on the contraceptive pill, Cerazette (which btw should be re-marketted as "Mood swings in a pill" lol). I have come of it for that very reason but whenever I stopped taking the pill before I would get a period instantly.
I have not had a period yet and was wondering whether it was related to the fact I am dieting?
Dont get me wrong, I dont miss them at all!
But if I am not getting them does that mean my body has gone into starvation mode?
I am still about 155 lbs and eating approx 1300-1700 cals a day, so it cannot be that I have such a low body fat percentage that my body is trying to protect me from getting pregnant?!? Hmm maybe I should wait a few more weeks and see? Anyone else get this?
Lol! "Mood swings in a pill" <3
I take Cerazette on prescription as I have particularly painful periods and have been for about three years. I missed my period (well, the bleeding) after about three months of adjustment, though I would still get symptoms like cramps and discharge around the time I am due. I am missing it, now, due to my low weight - but that is unrelated to the pill, and I was on it before my ED set in. I would not say it is due to your intake or weight and as long as your fat % per day is at 25-30% and you aren't overexercising or thoroughly stressed I'd say it's the Cerazette. :]
i went off the same pill with a different medical name: diane-35. lol!
here's my situation: i had my doctor's appointment 3 days after i would have started my new pill cycle, so i stopped taking the craziness pill and i have to wait for my period to start up my new one. i've been waiting two months (after this weekend it will be 2 missed periods). there was no way i was preggers (i had a period after the last time i had sex, but that was the last oen i had), but to make myself feel better i took a pregnancy test. the best 15 bucks i every spent for some piece of mind. i don't know about your pill, but for mine (and most i would geuss) it can take up to 3 months before you get your period back. especially if youR'e like me, who has been on the pill (different kinds, but always constantly on it with no break) for the last 8 years. you,re body's no longer use to doing it by itself, so it takes time to adjust (which is kinda freaky, but...)
if you miss three though, you should call the doctor.
good luck!
I came off Cerezette over 6 months ago and Ive only had two periods since, and concidering that ive only been dieting for two weeks I can safely say that the odds are staked against that crappy little pill. x
Ha ha, Faybe, I like it! It truly is crappy.
I just find it weird, as ive been on other mini pills, like microgynon and whenever I stopped that I'd get a period a day later.
But thinking back to last year when I was running lots, I didnt have a period for months then either. I'm going to try eating more iron and fat and yeah, if it still doesnt reappear, speak to my doc.
thanks all x
