I was listening to the radio the other day and, to my chagrin, Celine Dion's "My Heart Will Go On" which has to be one of the worst songs in existence came back on. Man, I hated this song when it first came out. Still hate it. It's just so... annoying!

So tell me.. what do YOU think the absolute worst song in existence is?

Aerosmith, "I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing."  Utter garbage.

Yes. This is true. Also, Pink sucks. I like Aerosmith too. Sad.

My BF's family owns a ranch.  And on that ranch, they have a tractor.  And I have to say, when I see him on the tractor, it's pretty freakin hot!  So while I don't have ticks, I can say (with no shame in my voice), that I think his tractor is sexy... Mostly when he's on it, but I've been known to give it the old "come hither" glance every once in a while... There's just something about bright orange machinery... :-)

I love you for saying that. LOL! My ex took me to tractor pulls in SC. I never quite saw the sexiness in the tractor. If there were a shirtless sexy man on it, he would be sexy, but the tractor...not so much. Hehe. Wink

I hate hate hate that effing Check you for Ticks song. I effing hate it with an effing passion that effing burns with effing fire all effing night long.

Do you even know what is worse? My SO is really into country music and I hate it. He plays it all the time and his kids 6 & 9 (when I first met them) knew many country lyrics. I found it disgusting to hear some of those lyrics being sung by children so young. Then he made a comment to me that he'd rather have them singing country because it isn't as vulgar as rock. Right after that The Tick song came on the radio and his daughter knew all the words.

Are you effing kidding me? Not as vulgar as rock!

Eew. Kids singing it IS even more disturbing.

Original Post by glinda:

Hinder's "Lips of an Angel".

I get up and change the radio station instantly if they play it.

Second.  An ex was trying to be nostalgic and he said this song reminded him of me...he had a new gf.  I was all "you want me to be your hoe?" thanks for the memories...

Hey There Delilah by The Plain White T's.

Most people I know love it, but I can't stand it.

Dangit!  I had just forgotten that song and you make it rear its ugly head again.

haha...fortius...smash mouth went to my high school and made a couple guest appearances while i was there...i dont think anyone even dared to go over to that side of the school...*barf*

There are some really horrible songs, and I can't pick just one, but the one that drove me the most insane: "Loving You" by Minnie Ripperton.

Between the "la la la la," "dooby dooby doo" and the shriek... ugh!

That song is being played over and over in Hell....

This thread is officailly jinxed. I've now heard at least 3 of the songs mentioned since this thread started.

Right now it's Hey There Delilah :(

worst song

This is it...there can be no other...

it's probably been said, but i have to put in a bid for the song that hk is drilling into our forebrains in chat today.  kid rock notes that sweet home alabama has been popular for almost 35 years, says to himself, "how can i capitalize on lynyrd skynyrd's talent, since i don't have any of my own?  good thing i have an undiscriminating audience of rednecks and adolescents (not to mention adolescent rednecks) to manipulate."

THIRDED, I wanted to throw myself off a ledge every time they played it, although "Rock Star" by Nickleback is horrifying also (actually, Nickleback itself is horrifying).

NO!  I LIED!  IT IS THAT KID ROCK SKYNARD SPOOF!  IT MAKES ME HOMICIDAL!

Shania Twain, or as I like to call her, Shania "Twang"- "Feel Like a Woman"...

God! I can't stand her stupid lyrics..."honey I'm home", "Give the Dog a bone" , "rub my feet, give me somethin' good to eat"... Sounds like it was written by a 2nd grader!

I Kissed a Girl - super ick!

Sorry, I missed this.

Original Post by alaskanmama:

"I Kissed a Girl"....(try explaining that one to your nine year old daughter!) lol

It's not just that I kissed a girl, it's the nasty bragging thing about cheating on the bf...I couldn't care less if you kissed a girl, but bragging about cheating on your bf is just nasty.

a friend of mine who's a singer calls her "shania twit."

but i have to say i'm a little dismayed by the number of canadian artists making this list.  not that i disagree with any of them but - damn!

I like this song just because one year when my family went down to the beach we got stuck in traffic after 6 hours in the car (it was the first time in 5 years we'd all taken 1 car because my brothers' were both out of commission) and to ease the tension my brother (age 23) started singing that falsetto when it came on the radio and my mom and dad and I nearly died laughing while my other brother just shook his head like he had failed somewhere along the way.  Good memories...

pgeorgian- nothin personal to the Canadians, of course. ;) I loved "Kids in the Hall"! (an old candian comedy sketch show on Comedy Central)
