absurd weight flucations
I deal with the most absurd weight fluctations. Example. Sunday i weigh 132.5 (low for me) Monday 133-134ish (weighed in twice) ....this make a bit more sense and then today 140!!!!? i dont get it.
absurd if you're doing the same thing daily!
whats your stats/intake/exercise? when did you start?
5.8 i guess 140? (today) I run alot...but exercise varies from day to day. I guess i may have eaten more carbs yesterday and maybe that has something to do with it.
It is absurd to weigh oneself every day.

not if you are tracking it and taking the average to chart your loss. its more a personal decision TYVM!

lots of different things cause your body to hold fluid - sodium, exercise, TTOTM. Any of those applicable?
Mine can go up/down 5lbs but average 2lbs a week loss.
Do you keep track of how much sodium you take in? I can easily gain 4 pounds overnight if I overdo my sodium intake. Water weighs a lot! :)

The fact that daily your weight fluctuates due to water retention, etc. Here you are wondering why and questioning why your weight is fluctuating. It is NORMAL, which is why all reputable weight loss counselors suggest putting the scale away and weighing only once a week. Otherwise, one tends to obsess.
Sodium can really make your weight go up significantly...there are processed food items that I was shocked to learn could contain up to 1000 miligrams of sodium in just one serving!
Recently a family memeber was in a hospital and I learned that if you gain more than 2 lbs of water weight in one day that it is dangerous for your organs so maybe you should get checked out!
Thanks. Makes me feel better. I acutally had a pretty intense workout day yesterday. I sorta accidently ran 13 miles (ran 4 in the am then 6 after work) and then my friend wanted to go for a jog with me that ended up being a bit over 3 miles long and i also did a core workout in there. so the water retention thing makes sense. ]
I was going to get up and run today but i feel like i should wait till this eveing ...give my body a chance to recover.
hmm thats scares me. i do feel really naseuous today and last night i was incredibly dizzy before going to bed...maybe thats cause my body was retaining to much water ?

Sounds like low blood sugar to me. Were you able to eat anything today? Perhaps you're not giving your body enough energy for all that exercise.
Best to talk to your Dr if it contnues.
so do you think low blood sugar can cause weird weight fluctuations?
u're scale is broken
haha i dont think so i put a dumbell on it to check it

Wouldn't you want to take the whole day off to recover?

No, it can cause dizziness and nausea. (Sorry, I went off track.)
Probably your muscles are retaining extra fluid due to your intense workout yesterday. Lesser, daily fluctuations of a few pounds are perfectly natural.

I didn't notice any member of my husband's family missing.
To those advocating not weighing more than once a week, think about what she might think if she weighed on Tuesdays and found she had gained 7 lbs in a week. People know they're not going to gain 7 lbs of fat in a day. It has to be water weight, and in this case the OP can look at what she did and pinpoint that it's probably due to the extra running. On the other hand, a lot can happen in a week. I know it would freak me out a lot more if I'd gained 7 lbs over a week than if I had gained 7 lbs in a day. YMMV.
If you can't take the daily weight fluctuations, I suggest you stop torturing yourself so much. x_x
Some people can look at the numbers and just follow the trend line and be happy, but for other (me) it's depressing and causing the "wtf did I do" thoughts to come in. For someone like you, I suggest once or twice a week so you can see the general pounds lost, not the daily water weight. :)
Thanks guys. everyones input was helpful ...![]()
