Acai Berries? Has anyone tried them?
Hi, I'm 14 years old, currently 208 lbs and my goal is to be 145 by February, 2011. I've heard Acai Berry all-natural pills really help you lose weight fast. It supposedly cleans out your system. Is this true? Has anybody tried them?
No, it's not true, and 99% of what you'll see online are scams (as in, charge your credit card every month, and it'll take months to get them to stop).
They will do nothing but lighten your wallet, and won't work without eating a healthy diet of less calories than you burn and being active. Which is really all you need in the first place.
they made me bloat into a round ball and turn purple.
love,

Have you tried them?
No, but I know enough about them to know that they won't help. Some things you don't need to experience personally.
Even if they did help you lose weight fast, remember that losing weight fast is a sure way to put it back on faster. And there is absolutely no reason to "cleanse" your system - your liver and kidneys do that for you, and if they didn't, you'd have more serious health issues to show for it.

I tried them, *bit shamefaced* and they did nothing :( Well thats not entirely true they caused a lot of stomach pain for me but apparently thats just me. Really they don't anything other then what amethystgirl was saying - lighten the wallet and charge the heck out of your credit card.
I wish they did cause it would be nice but in the end the truth is you just have to eat right and exercise.
i tried them, and i think they taste good. i just had a 100 % juice mix smoothy with them.
i did get that feel-good fresh fruit feeling from the smoothie though.
juicers rock.
acai are not some miracle fruit - unfortunately, i have not come across a miracle fruit.
when anyone does, please let me know.
mango and papaya are really good too... yum.
black currants have more antioxidants than acai berries.
just sayin'
Yea, I think your best bet is to just watch your calorie count, work out, and do things the right way.
Even if there was a miracle pill that was simultaneously healthy and did make the weight drop off, I wouldn't take it. I think, think about your skin!! There is some elasticity there, but seriously. You can get stretch marks from losing weight too quickly, also.
stick with it, girl. We're here for ya!
The good thing about acai berries is the antioxidants they provide, which can help combat cancer, not lose weight. Since your goal is to lose weight, you want to focus on finding the right balance of calories in and calories burned each day. While it is a good idea to eat foods high in antioxidants, that aspect of it is not directly related to weight loss, and as someone else mentioned, other fruits can be good sources and cost less!
