Acai berry?

Quote  |  Reply

What have people heard about weight loss and Acai? I see so many advertisements relating it to weight loss? Rumors?

I've heard this about Green Tea extract also....

99% are actually scams.

For the 1% that aren't... they won't do much more than a healthy diet and activity (and you'd need those anyway to see results).

Remember, if you could buy something to make you skinny, Oprah would already have it.

Probably just a scam. :)

If these things actually worked I think everyone would be onto it. Green tea is just really good for you, I drink it coz I love it so if it has weight loss benifits all the better to me!

I work in a credit union and that green tea and acai products are notorious for tacking on extra charges to your credit or debit card. I don't know if they work, but if you order them, be SUPER vigilant about the fine print and what charges you'll see. Most of the time, the extra charges come from other health related services and they are very hard to cancel. And the charges are usually smaller so they're under the Mastercard and Visa chargeback threshhold and your financial institution just ends up eating them if you contest. Almost every time I am asked to investigate unauthorized charges for a member, it turns out to be related to acai or teeth whiteners.

If you ever consider a product online, try googling "prouduct" + "scams' and see what pops up. Here's a link for warnings about acai:http://acaiscam.org/
