Could i have accidently put myself in starvation mode, lol

Hey I don't have an ED or anything like that, but I asked in a other blog if 1600 cal was to low for a 19 yr. old girl 5'2 110 lb. and alot of people said yes, So I do remember at the beginning of january 2009 i ate to much chocolate and i did a food journal,  to try and stop the chocolate lol but i think i skipped snacks in the process, although I still eat regullarly every day is there a way i could have accidently not eaten enough and gotten used to 1500-1600 calories? i mean everyone says thats a fine number if i sit around all day but i do workout so i am concerned. I have been eating more kind of an expeirement to see if eating more will make me more hungry, like yesterday i had chocolate cake and today i wasnt to hungry for lunch or dinner but i ate quite a bit anyways. so has anyone accidently gotten into starvation mode? how long did it take to get out of it? ps. I don't even know if I am in starvation mode I am just eating more to see if it signals more hunger and wakes up my metabolism.

 coffe helps with constipation it makes you poo lol, so does tea. also another thing to remember is that you wont have the same level of hungry every day, like since you work out maybe you needed extra energy to repair your muscles, my hunger varys by the day, right now i am not hungry for the amount of food i am eating i got to like 1744 cal. and couldnt eat anymore but tommorrow i am running so i will probably get to 1900 more easily. ~erica

coffee doesnt help me..nothing seems to

i cant fathom NOT being hungry, once i start i get even hungrier?

today was 2730, so a bit diff from yesterday

 well i think you either have a really fast metabolism which is definetly a good thing, but some people are diabetic and since they are insulin resistent they keep eating and are always hungry, but u probably just have a fast metabolism, its ok to eat more if ur body asks, don't supress your hunger, thats what i did and now im not as hungry and im eating more to restore my hunger~erica

I don't know what you are eating when you eat your 2700-2900, but if you are getting enough fiber (beans, bran, whole grains, fresh fruits, and vegetables) and drinking enough water, that should help ease your constipation.  Also, a 3rd thing that helps fight constipation is getting enough exercise.  Good luck.

i eat whole grains, fruits+veggies, bran, not beans tho, i drink lots of water and get about 25 mins of activity 5-6/wk.  idk?

i meant i dont know, i dont know y i suffer w it so much, i called my doctor+missed his call back and he wont be in til fri-yuck!

its just crazy to think that im eating this amount and its justwell, sitting there!!

Some people have BM's every day, some 2 or 3 a day, and some only once every 2 or 3 days.

I am wondering if  you have suffered from this for days, weeks, months, or even years?

foods like honey, and spinach are glossy foods in chinese medicine, and what they do for your body is help everything move along lol, i read about chinese medicine i love it~erica

Apple juice and coffee also work for some people to help move things along.

I would recommend only using commercial laxatives as a last resort.  Not that they can't be effective and maybe even necessary on rare occasions, but one should not rely on them very often.

i would never want to get hooked on laxatives!! worse yet, ppl's bodies can become accustomed to them and then u cant go unless u take the laxative- i would never want that!

i do have to take some sort of mild lax 1/wk, midweek often, bc i only seem to go wknds and otherwise im in too much pain, the lax does not always work.

w the foods, i can eat prunes, a whole cabbage, whatever-it makes no diff unfortuantely.  even when i eat "unhealthy" stuff, like greasy or lots of chocolate and stuff, nothing, its not the food i dont think.

 you need to eat more glossy foods that would help, fiber pills also help, although u said its not the food, good luck~erica
