Have you ever thought about who you could trust to openly examine and confess your faults to, besides God?
"It's better to have a partner than go it alone. Share the work, share the wealth. And if one falls down, the other helps, But if there's no one to help, tough! ... By yourself you're unprotected. With a friend you can face the worst. Can you round up a third? A three-stranded rope isn't easily snapped." Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (MSG)
What is the role of an Accountability Partner?
- to discuss issues
- to help in times of trouble and help divert relapses
- to provide an objective point of view (the other side of the coin)
- to encourage you - at your own speed
- to attempt to model
- (can be released or resign at any time) due to various circumstances
How to find an Accountability Partner?
- Seek God to help you choose
- MUST be same sex as you
- Able to relate to your situation
- Willing to invest time to get acquainted
- (If they say no or need to resign don't take it as a personal rejection) realize situations change for all of us
(Thank you to Lorraine (gatorlorraine) for putting this together and sharing it in our Moderator's communication)
