Hey everyone! I had a slip up today and ate this dill chicken salad that was to die for but was loaded with fat. At least it wasnt a full bag of chips and large french fries right? Anyways ive worked out monday and am going tonight so hopefully it wont show up on the scale tomorrow when I weight in at work....talk to you all later
8 REASONS WHY IT'S GREAT TO BE A SHORTY!
1) We reach our 10,000 step goals faster even if we go the same distance
2) We get more exercise while cooking just by having to climb the step stool to get many ingredients and utensils
3) We can hold a child's hand and can help a baby with its first steps without hurting our backs
4) We meet lots of nice people at the grocery store and Walmart by asking them to get stuff down for us
5) When trying new sports we have a lesser chance of breaking bones since we don't have far to fall
6) Us girls have our choice of men, since very few are shorter than we are (and my husband, at 6'2", is still not too tall)
7) We don't bump our heads very often - and can even walk under the chandeliers in most houses
8) It's easier to hem skirts or pants than it is to find those few "extra-long" items

Hi all, sorry I've been ill, Sinus headaches. I weighed again this moreing and I'm still up from Sunday. I have started using the weights so I'm going to go and measure my arm, hip, and thighs, maybe I've toned instead of gained. I have been staying with my calories and even a little less on one day. I also had a little more +100 or so on one day but surely this isn't the difference between dropping a pound or so. especially since I was short one day (no pun intended). Okay so I'm looking for a Weekend challenge. Anyone got one out there?
the weather is going to be great, so I plan to play soccer, softball and chase after my little one all weekend. Basicaly stay outside. Hopefully lose weight and make fun family memories.
Soreloser - you play soccer? I do too! great exercise..... we played outdoors last week - froze to death on Monday night, it was like 15 degree wind chill.
Hey guys- I am really in need of some encouragement. The past 2 weeks I have slacked off really badly. I've been going out of town a lot for job interviews and stuff, and realize now that i haven't even been in the gym since Saturday! My weight has gone up, thanks to eating badly on the road and lack of gym time, and I am kind of having a hard time getting back into the swing of things. Help?!
Hey there fellow shorties!! Just checking in for the week - feeling good today. Ran 10K in just over 62 minutes....didn't stop once! Weight was 138.75 at the gym pre-workout and 137 afterwards. I'm taking the higher weight...just because it's probably more accurate.

Tg - when I was on the road (had to be in LA for 2 weeks for training etc. etc.) I found it really hard to get to the gym. If it's a safe neighborhood, try going for walks around the hotel, or taking the stairs instead of elevator (give yourself lots of extra time so that you aren't super sweaty for interviews!!). Hang in there - sometimes our bodies have a way of packing on weight from stress, and once we're back to our normal routine, the extra pound or two just disappear.

What a great thread this is! I've always complained about my height, not because models and beauty pagent contestants are tall. Nope, the cititcal factor for me was on those charts that talk about healthy weight and calorie allotments, you can eat more and weigh more if you're taller. My contention has always been I like food as much as a gal 5"10, but at 5' nothing, I can't eat what others can and maintain a good weight. I am 59 years young, weigh 172 and am determined to get off all this unhealthy weight. My goal is 115. I'm down five pounds so far but really just started again after being away since November. Here's hoping I can stick with it this time. Dora

Hey everyone! I did really good this weekend and am down to 187. I didn't quite reach my goal, but this is my lowest weigh yet, since starting losing that is =) This means I have officially lost 23 pounds now! Woohoo!
vcooper- not quite, I play with my kids. I stink at sports but my kids love them so I practice with them. This weekend I mostly just chased the little one while watching the other 2 play.
Hey everyone! Just checking in for the week. Im still at 136 but Im ok with it because I only had one short workout this weekend because im having an allergic reation to an antibiotic. It feels like my skin is crawling and I have not slept more then a couple hours the past three days because my skin is so itchy and now im starting to break out. The good news is that benadryl is supposed to help with the itching...the bad news is that it knocks you out...hopefully I can get to the gym tomorrow!
soreloser - that's how I started out when my daughter was younger, the parents use to scrimmage with the kids. I found that I liked it and found an over 30's women league and have been playing every since. I also coached for awhile, while my daughter was younger.
Hello! I hope you won't discriminate - I am 4'9"! I am 44 years old. My weight now is 163 - highest weight 171 and lowest adult weight 93 pounds (pre kids). I want to get to 120-125. Had trouble motivating but finally with the break in the New England weather I have gone walking and hit a large bucket of golf balls this week! It's a start! I have a gym membership and need to go! I hate getting over the hump!

I haven't been looking on this thing for over a week... and you know where I think it got me? 2 MORE POUNDS. Ughhh.. so I got down to 154 and I'm now at a steady 156. So I'm gonna not go away from all this for so long!

Yeah, bad week for me. I got sick for a few days and didn't go to the gym and then I ate an entire thing of pringles and a reeses egg and some jelly beans... not my brightest hour. So yeah I only lost 1 pound this week.

I have awful motivation. i sporadically go to the gym, and break down and eat the worst things. Being at Rutgers is tough, its the birthplace of something called a fat sandwich. mozzerella sticks, french fries, chicken finger, cheesesteak and hamburger and marinara sauce all in one sandwich... horrible! not to mention amazing cheese fries. the alcohol doesn't help either..
my start weight in 2005 was145, at 5'2" when i graduated high school, but i moved out of the houe and had to work a lot and HAD to minimize my diet and walk to work, so i am now down to 123 and have kept the weight off for awhile, but i am always trying to improve.
