I am new at this posting thing. I have looked through the website a few times, but I always back out with excuses. Today is the day!
I am going to start my diet, and I am going to follow it and loose the weight. I need to loose a good 15-20lbs, and I haven't been sucessful, infact I keep gaining.
I use to run and do out door activities, eat very healthy and barely snacked on sweets BY CHOICE! I never craved it. Now - i can't get myself to leave the house (except for work) and all I seem to crave are sweets. I have read many of the stories people posted on here and they are all great and all -but how do I start?

nmirzayanes hello, glad to have you. I've been the skinny girl and the fat girl and the depressed girl. It's hard when there is no one that you can just talk out the crazy stuff that's in your mind. Not that I would do anything crazy but sometimes you just get the craziest thoughts. I am here for you if you would like to send me a private message. I won't bore the rest of these folks with my life's story but just know this, when I really need someone to talk to, I only had one person. Family and Friends just thought I needed to get over it. and move on, I have stumbled in life and I have fallen, I am will to at least extend an online hand.

May I ask how many calories you guys that are losing are eating each day (with moderate to active excercise)? What average percentages between protien, carbs and fat are you guys at? Is it about even? I am not sure what I am supposed to be averaging!

Good question panache, im curious to because I seem to eat to little or to much...for example so far today I only have around 600 calories but yesterday I had over 2000 cals by this time! I cant seem to get the right amount and most of my calories are from carbs (60% or more) and protien.

Hello! I am averaging about 1200 calories per day, 45% carbs, 21% fat and 35% protien and I am not loosing - more exercise I guess...
My personal challenge today was to play 18 holes of golf...walking the very hilly terraine AND carrying my clubs! Just got home - success! Yeah!
I do not think I could accomplish 100 situps in one day. No kidding!

I'm 26 yo female, 5' 1", My top weight was 145, my current is 135 and goal is 120 by my birthday in July!
Currently i'm doing 45 minutes a day on the elliptical or treadmill and weight training 3x per week.

I also rediscovered my love of carrot chips today and drank 3 32oz bottles of water!

What are Carrot chips? Never heard of them. I didn't do very well on the water. going for 96 oz today.

I didn't get to post my weight loss on sunday Sorry. I weighed 177 I have lost 2 pounds so far. I will lose a lot this week becase I am doing a fast for 7 days. Water only. I usually lose about 2 lb per day becase you loss so much fluid. I do it to clean and repair my body. this is my third time to fast like this and I was able to get off bloodpressure meds after the 2nd fast of 10 days. I am doing well so far I had lost 5 lb in one day. I feel great no appetite after the second day. this is my third day of the fast. I am trying to decide how much a I will count on next sunday. Probable 1 lb a day. Fasting will save your life if you have metabolic syndrome. It cleans out arteries an veins and heals the heart and pancrease. It cures hyper tension and diab. I walked 1 hour yesterday listening to my walkman and was hungry after a nap becase I used so much energy and it was only my second day of the fast. I have no hunger today and plan on walking 40-45 min. My life plan is a 7 day fast 4 times a year to clean out toxins. I love fasting. :)

I'm really sorry, I find it hard to join in with the challenges because I'm in England, and sometimes don't read your posts until the next day!!
However, I am going to attempt the 100 crunches challenge... errk.
Abs will hurt that's for sure. I'm going to split them up though, into different types of crunches for the different ab muscles... hope that's not cheating!!

the idea is to get myself and others moving in any way. I think that it's great that you are even attempting to join in, and really it's only a challenge for yourself.
I am always looking for someone to challenge me because I tend to pick the same 10 exercises (boring) but I guess everyone shys away from it.
Pick a challenge for the weekend and post it out there. folks always have the option to pass on a specific challenge. Glad to have motivation from across the pond.

Cocowan carrot chips are just carrots chopped to look like ruffles, they sell them at kroger, which is a grocery store here in the produce department.
About the 50 squats for today...after doing yoga for the first time in months im having a hard time walking so I will do the squats tomorrow I promise!
The yoga I did was Inhale, its on the oxygen channell at 6am (i record it) and it works you!

Hi I'm back! I've lost the three pounds I gained recently and I'm on a roll to get the last 10 off in two months.
I've got some another reasons why it's good to be short.
9. Short/small framed people have small hands and make great dentists.

Hallo it's Sunday over here in *sunny* England!
Today I weighed in at 130lbs. Sounds like I've lost a lot, right? Wrong. My scales at home are about 5lbs different to my ones here at Uni! Meaning I haven't lost 7lbs, I lost about 2lbs. Which I still think is great. Hah.
I hate how if I move my scales around the room, I gain 2lbs etc. I'm just going with the lowest one, because it makes me feel good heheheh, and it's the one I've always used.
I've got some more reasons why it's great to be small!!
11. One thing my friend likes, or sometimes dislikes, is the fact that she can occasionally get a child rail/bus ticket and it's so much cheaper!! She's tiny though, like, really small boned and petite :)

marge- I am a fan of fasting too, but I am surprised you do the only water fast- I thought those tended to be really harsh on your body? Being an RN, though, I guess you have a little more info than I would, I just base it on personal research. I am a proponent of fasting not for the weight loss effects, though too, but for the emotional effects, the meditative aspects, and never fast for more than 3 days at a time. I don't think I could do a 7 day water fast! Good luck!
hhollyhal: I make my own carrot chips in the dehydrator (love that thing!) If anyone here is a big fan of dried fruits and veggies, I highly recommend making your own- no preservatives, and no sugars added! I tend to make carrots, apples, apricots, and bananas a lot, but I mae strawberries and raisins for my sister, too. Yummy!
So, for me now- I am still hanging on the 187 for some reason. My body is really stuck. I've followed all of the usual plateau suggestions, but still, 2 momths later I am hanging on for dear life it seems. I really need help here guys- what can I do to make it go away??
