Is this accurate? When your body creates insulin....

It holds on to fat cells and slows down weight loss?  Is that true to your knowledge?  Any my second questions is how much carb is average per meal?

Anyone??
insulin transports glucose, amino acids, and fatty acids into "cells" and stops fat cells from breaking down its fat reserves into fatty acids and glucose but it depends on how much glucagon is in your blood at the time because it does the opposite thing,

Insulin is just what the body releases to break down carbohydrates. What you are really worried about is glucose surges, such as after a huge meal. That's when your body releases a lot of insulin to counteract it and you begin to feel sluggish. Eating a good balance of carbs, fats and proteins helps. Fats and proteins slow down the metabolism of carbs. This makes it take longer til you are hungry again and plus you feel better.

Insulin is an animal hormone whose presence informs the body's cells that the animal is well fed, causing liver and muscle cells to take in glucose and store it in the form of glycogen, and causing fat cells to take in blood lipids and turn them into triglycerides. In addition it has several other anabolic effects throughout the body.

This book argues that insulin after a strength workout is a good thing, because it helps you replenish glycogen stores for your next workout, supresses cortisol, and helps your muscles start repairing themselves. Afterwards (>4 hours), it instead promotes fat storage.
