i have mild acne, i recently started a new treatment, morning & night i go through the face cleaning steps with my skin care stuff, but my question is, should i do this before or after i work out? i try to hit the gym right after i get up. i dont notice my skin excessively oily after a workout just a little sweaty.

I would say after, when you sweat, you clear out your pores. If you apply your treatment afterwards, the medicine can get deeper into your pores and be more effective, I think

I don't know if you need any particular kind of regiment, but at least make sure you wash your face and body after working out.  Sweat is moisture, and therefore a breeding ground for bacteria. 

I used a mild face wash called Spectrojel, Im sure you've heard of it if you have acne (I do also)  I wash  my face with it as soon as I get home from the gym.. It's gentle enough to use everyday so it should be fine for you to use in between your other treatment..
I personally wash my face in the morning to clear out any oil from that night, and then wash it again after the workout due to sweating. I also have been more aware of touching my face during and after my workouts. My gym has Purell dispensers now, but unfortunately there is a lot of bacteria on the equipment. This can cause acne if you touch your face. I am especially aware of this because we do tend to touch our faces when we are sweating, etc.

don't touch you face during workouts....that was what made my face break out...had nothing ever since I stopped doing that.

I would wash after exercising. While sweating your pores open more. Plus you want clean all that sticky sweat off. Just don't overly wash your face, that can aggravate acne and cause skin irritation. Sweating a lot and exercising is great for your skin.
