Acne Scars--what products help?

Hello all. so i've asked about Acne medications, and now i'm asking about acne scars. i've recently discovered, after ridding my skin of a good patch of pimples, that i have horrible red acne scars. They vary in colour with the weather, sometimes red, sometimes blue! oh yes i know even blue.

I've looked in department stores for creams, a lady showed me one by Dior, but she said that i should keep trying to rid my skin of more acne before i even purchase it. That dropped a bomb.

So i'm curious, has anyone looked into this, have you tried something for acne scars?

My dermatologist said that after they dissapear, if they're not textured (meaning when you run your finger over the area it's even and there are no inward depressions) that in time they'll fade away. I didn't believe him but after a year or so they have faded dramatically. Also exfoliating daily helps speed up the process. If you're very eager to get rid of them right now, however, there is a laser treatment that my doctor mentioned which is supposed to make them completely dissapear but it's expensive so I would wait until the majority of your acne is gone before you try that.
