What activity level do I have?
I am a grad student, so most of the day I'm sedentary at a computer. I occaisonally do chores and run errands.
However, I exercise 5-6 days a week, cardio and strength training and push myself pretty hard. I burn between 300-500 calories per workout.
For the CC program, am I Sedentary? Light Activity? Moderate? Very Active?
Love your input!
Another grad student here! You might want to set your activity level to sendentary and add your exercize for about a week or so. Figure out what your average burn is, and play around with the higher activity settings to see which is closest to your level. It's probably going to be light or moderate.
I am in a similar situation... I set my activity level to sedentary and then use my activity log to add the time that I am working out... I have done this for a while now and it has helped alot.... also, that way you don't have to change your activity level for days you miss workouts... good luck!
This is only based on my personal experience:
If you'd prefer not to do what the above posts suggest, I'd go with "Moderate." I am in a very similar situation to your lifestyle/workout routine, and did not have adequate energy and nutrition to keep up with my workouts when I tried "Light" at first. Now I use "Moderate" and it works well. I am going to eventually try "Very Active" for a bit to see how that goes.
My life is also similar to yours and I also choose sedentary but for different reasons. I'd rather under estimate the calories I'm burning and over estimate the calories I'm eating when it comes to judgement call situations. This way, the superfluous calories end up being a nice surprise on the scale. Hope that makes sense.
On the go andin the know.
