I am kind of confused about my activity rate...or rather, would like a second opinion.
I ride my bike to work and back (20 mins total). I stand all day at work, do moderate to heavy lifting occasionally (inventory/stocking). I go out most nights with friends or my boyfriend. At home I AM pretty sedantary, but I do clean, paint, dance, etc. I do 20 - 45 minutes of cardio 3-7 times a week.
This will most likely change in the school year (I'll be even more busy), but for now...what do you think my activity level is? I chose light activity. But I feel hungry and weak when I eat the reccomended amount....I have like, ZERO energy. I could be eating the wrong things (I think I need more protein), but I just wanted to make sure!
Thanks~!
It might have something to do with what you are eating. Speaking for myself, I find that I get full quicker from a meal with fats compared to meals that are low fat even when the two meals have the same amount of calories.
I think it's all in your head ... mind over matter...
It's all about mouth-feel. If your body feels like it's eating something filling, then you won't be hungry. When I eat something with next to no fat, my body continues to feel hungry, no matter how many calories I eat.
This is the way that we have evolved. Our preference for fatty foods is what kept our ancestors from staying alive during hunter-gatherer times, which is what makes fatty foods so much more satisfying for us - psychologically and physically.
I suggest you add a bit of oil to your food. It makes a hell of a difference.
