the ACTIVITY level of a HEALTHY person?............ break down your day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Quote  |  Reply

I’m just wondering...

How “active” should a generally “healthy” person be throughout the day?
I mean..... What exactly does count as “physical exercize?” (the 1 hour that we need)...
Should a human ever be sedentary throughout the day? How long?.......

My 24 hours goes like:
8:00- 8:30- wake up, breakfast, eat blabla
8:30- 2:00- summer school classes (sedentary.. Just sitting the whole time) and lunch
2:00-2: 45- jog/ walking
2:45- 3:00- some weights snack
3:00- 5:00- homework snack
5:00- 8:00 (or all extra times inbetween other times) - i just go online , walk around the house, sit, tv, walk.... Stand... Waste most my time or read snack snack snack
8:00- 9:00- shower.... Stand around some more or read snack snack snack
9:00- 9: 30- dinnerrrrrrr
9:30- 10:00- get ready for bed
10:00---- sleep?
(i would put in some more exercize time...... But then...... It’s just not the right time to get sweaty and all... And you know?........ )

IS MY LIFE HEALTHY?????..... Based on activity level?

Would anybody breakdown the 24 hours for me.. For a “healthy” person’s life?

Your life?

Everyone's day is going to be very different. I'm healthy, but my days vary. Some days I work, others I don't. The important thing is I make time to exercise. If I know I have a busy day ahead, I'll workout for an hour in the morning sometime after breakfast, but before my shower. If it's not such a busy day, I like to workout in the afternoon for an hour. Then on top of that, 2-3 days a week I have an exercise class that I do in the evening for about an hour. Not thinking it's the right time to get sweaty sounds like an excuse you've come up with. Showering doesn't take that long. It's not like you have to wash your hair and shave every time you exercise, you just need to go in and wash up quick. There are many days that I have to shower 3X. If that's what I have to do to feel good and exercise, it's worth it, and I'm clean:) I'd also reconsider your eating plan. Instead of all the snacking, make dinner earlier so you're not eating a meal right before bed. Eat at 5:00 and workout for an hour at 6 or 6:30. That should take up a good chunk of time and prevent you from snacking more. You'll also feel so good after working out that you probably won't snack on junk, but make healthy choices.

i dont have a choice with the dinner part... we eat as a family.. my family is ready around that time. and i'm forced to eat all my dinner too.....

i guess i dont exercize enough..... i barely go over 30 min. a day..........

and the showering part....... the sweat... i just dont have enough underwear/ clothes to replace.....

i guess i'm not healthy :*(.

so i want to know: HOW ACTIVE SHOULD A PERSON BE?!?!?! how SENDENTARY should a person be in a day???!?!??

I'm assuming you're a teen?  I don't know what the cutoff age is but healthy "kids" should have 2 hours of physical activity a day.  That can be walking and on up (sports, jogging, whatever).

A healthy adult should have 30 minutes of physical activity for fitness, an hour for weight loss.  I don't remember where I heard this, just that I have from several sources.

I'm not going to break down my day because it's different all the time.  Sometimes I exercise in the morning, afternoon or evening.  I do different things too, like workout dvds, bike riding and going to the gym and using equipment or going to the park and jogging.

If you want more exercise time, try to fit it in that 5-8pm slot.  Even a half hour of activity would help.
