Activity Level help please?

Quote  |  Reply

What is the activity level of someone who walks 6-7 miles everyday at a slow to moderate pace?
She also lifts weights (5lbs dumbells) and does bodyweight exercises 3 times a week for around 30-40mins per session.

Anyone?

Clearly not sedentary - just the walking covers that. either light or moderate, depeding on whether the walking takes more or less than 2 hours/day.

Thanks Melkor....The walking is for about 2.5 to 3 hours a day, alternating between slow leisurely strolls and moderate-fast paced brisk walks.

Yeah, that would be moderate - light is walking 2h/day or less. Coupled with the calisthenics it's definitely a higher activity bracket than light.

The whole activity level/burn meter/calorie target thing confuses me...

I just put sedentary and then log in my gym/sports activities.

On days that I hostess or waitress on top of my day job (which is mainly on a computer), I move it to lightly active and still log in my gym/sports activities.

I do the same thing. It just seems easier for me to log everything. Plus I'm a student, so there are definitely days that I'm not moving around as much!
