Activity Level - I know, it's been asked

So I started out with my activity level set to sedentary because I was doing rigorous exercises at the gym and figured I'd just log them separately and let that be that. Now that I have a job, I don't really have time to go to the gym during the week. Instead I've been going on 1.5-2 miles walks with one of my friends. Now, I'm a college student, and I have a class on the 5th floor of one building and the 7th of another that I go to at least 4 times a week each. I always take the stairs.

Between walking around campus, going up and down stairs, and taking walks, would it be wise to just set my activity level to "Light" and then not log the walking?

My activity level is set to moderate but the burn meter compensates if I don't work out.  For example, my eat meter will be at 2650 but if I do NO exercise the burn meter stays at 2450.  If I log 300 calories, it will compensate for the "moderate" setting and not add the whole thing in.  I haven't done the math, but it is around 200 calories of exercise that are compensated for.  In other words, I would set the level at "light" AND log the walking.  A heart rate monitor is excellent for figuring out calorie burn on stairs, etc.  I bought one from Target that it a watch and has no chest strap.  Just hit the button when you start up the stairs, hold another button for heart rate, and hit the first button again to stop timing when you get to class.  You can keep adding throughout the day for a pretty accurate total at the end of the day.  I don't remember what I paid, but it was between $50 and $80.  Money well spent.  The motivation factor is amazing!

Thanks for the input. :)

I don't know that I'd log the walking after. I'd rather underestimate than overestimate my burn.

Anyone else have any opinion?
