Activity level... need advice!!!!
Ok so i am unsure what my activity level should be. i dont work. i am a stay at home mom. basically a single parent because my husband is out of the country right now. so i do all the cleaning, dishes laundy and take care of a nine month old all day by myself. as well as all of this i also walk 4 miles in an hour and 20 min every week day morning. run a mile in 10 min every other day (usually 3 times a week) do floor exercise (crunches, bridge, leg lifts, lunges, bick kicks, and push ups) for about 45 min every other day, the days i run, then to top off my day i do an hour of yoga every night before bed (helps me sleep) i am just unsure if i am lightly active or moderatly.
Also i was wondering if there is any advice on adding some weight trainning. i need to know if i can do this at home with out a gym membership. and if so what do i need and what are some suggestions on moves etc. thanks
im a big fan of weight trainning. for at home you can use soup cans, water bottles, books. frozen foods. realy anything you can grip. squats, lundges, etc and do tonning. lots of reps at a low weight like 2 to 3 sets of 15reps. basicaly you should feel some fetigue at the end of every set with very short brakes inbetween. it also burn more cals than regular weight training because your in almost constant motion giving a cardio like work out too
cange can to start to be seen fairly quickly (depending on how much you have to loose) and you wont bulk up
I am confused about this to. I workout 7 days a week. 5 days I do a half hour in the morning of leg lifts, ab work, free weights, squats and lunges. In the evening I go to the gym and do 10 minutes on the weight machines there. 40 minutes on the treadmill at 4.1 or 4.2 mph and 12 minutes on the elliptical. On the weekend I do the same except I do an hour and a half on the treadmill on sat and sun and on Sunday I do not do the elliptical. When I look at my activity log most days it shows I only burned 311-400 calories. How can that be? The treadmill meter and elliptical show something totally different. I am also not sure what to set my activity level at here.
To littleshellys I would stop letting cc pick your calories for you and use the add it here link. If you know how many calories you burned on the machines at the gym add that amount instead of letting cc guess at what you burned. Do you have to enter your weight and age on your machines at the gym cause that will make a difference. Also I don't know how anyone else does it but I set my activity level at what I think I would be at if I didn't work out then I add my work outs. But this is all one of those things that you really have to tweak. If you are not losing with it set at the moderate activity set it down a notch and try to meet the calorie goal for that one for awhile. I think you just have to experiment til you find what works. Sounds like your all doing all the right things. Keep on working at it!

Hi pjlittlefr,
Thank you for your reply. I am going to look at the treadmill at work. I believe there is a place to enter height, weight and so on. I am at my goal weight but believe I burn more calories in a day than it is reporting. I just want to maintain and keep it off at this point.
Tomorrow is Friday. My eat what I want for dinner day
I love Friday. I eat dinner out plus desert and I look forward to it all week.
I wish I did not love bad food so much. It would be so much easier.
Can I do OA with Calorie Count?
Keeping food logs and counting calories is completely compatible with OA. Overeaters Anonymous (OA) advocates abstinence in-between... Read more
