Activity Level query

Quote  |  Reply

I'm not quite sure which activity level is best for me--I work in an office, where I mainly sit at a desk, but I walk to work everyday.  I also exercise maybe 5 days a week, and typically push myself pretty hard.  Some days I'm active doing things around the house, and others I'll sit and read or watch movies....I wouldn't classify myself as sedentary due to the exercise, but I'm not sure if I'd qualify for a light or moderate activity level.  What is the best way to choose?

Sedentary isn't appropriate for you because you are active.  Start with 'moderate' and go with the recommendation for that for a while.   If your weight doesn't change on that level of calories, reduce to 'light' and see if that makes a difference.

Some will say 'log all activity separately' but I think that can become cumbersome and also gets in the way of developing a steady routine.
