Add me to the "I'm new" list
Hey everyone, just joined and checking the place out. First off, a bit about me:
27 yr old female, 5'9", approx 135 lbs, just joined a gym and got a personal trainer (wooo go new muscles!) and want to just be healthy but not fanatical. I have high cholesterol (like almost 300, hereditary unfortunately) so I want to do what I can for that as well as get an exercise program going that I can stick with throughout my life. I live in Los Angeles, CA so if anyone is in the area, let me know!
I see that there are support groups here, I think that's a cool idea. What's the deal with joining those? Are they for specific purposes or reasons or are there general groups for people looking for motivation?
I think that's it. I love the logs they do here for food and exercise and such, really makes a difference to see how much you eat! LOL I think that's it for me, hope to "meet" a few of you!
Welcome to CC. I'm glad that you find the tools here useful. Are you joining to watch your cholesterol? Because at 5'9 and 135, you are already at a healthy weight for your height. If you can't find a group which suits your goals, start one yourself, and I'm sure that you will find other people in similar situations to you. If you interested in fitness, the advise on the fitness forum is awesome. Good luck with your goals Ax
I'm joining to be healthier overall. I'd like a better idea of foods I should be eating plus fitness tips, not to mention cholesterol control and toning up my body. It's nice to have a community of people who are in to the same thing.
