OK, am I the only one who is addicted to counting calories? I count everyday, the whole day, and everyones calories. Today my boys begged me to take them to McDonalds so I did and I saw that the place was packed with everyone eating huge burgers and fries and sodas and as I was walking by, I was counting how many calories these people are consuming. Then my husband got himself a subway sandwich with potato chips so I was telling him how many calories are in the chips. A friend of mine is also trying to lose weight but every time she comes over, she brings a big latte with whipped cream and some dougnuts and I just go crazy telling her how many calories she just ate. My friends are sick of this but I can't help it. So, am I the only one?

I don't say anything, but yes. :) Every time I go to work with my coworkers (who are all thin and active anyway) I'm adding up their calories in my head. And every time I see hubby eat I'm doing the same thing. :)
What other people eat is what other people eat. I keep up with mine noted what others eat with a little inward contempt.
I do it too! I think it's hard not to now that we are so aware of whats going in our own mouths. Before I was watching what I ate, a friend of mine would do the same thing to me. It was really annoying so I try to keep my mouth shut about it but I definitly think about it.
I never say anything (unless asked), but I can't remember the last time I didn't try to do a mental calculation of the calories in everything my friends, family or coworkers were eating.
It's automatic for me. It's like I don't see food but numbers now and it goes for what I'm putting in my mouth as well as what everyone else is eating, or worse ads on TV. Not that I never binge, only that I'm counting them with each bite. Since my friends are dieting too it kind of became a game.
It drives my husband nuts, because I not only count calories but fat and sodium as well. But I really don't say anything unless it's my family or people I know would care. I remember people doing it to me when I wasn't taking control of my life and I ate worse to spite them... Now, I would admit that I was only hurting myself, but maturity is overrated. ;-)

I have enough problems with my own calorie counting...lol...
I mostly just look at people eating and wistfully think, "Man, I wish I could eat that right now."

I try not to say anything but I do the same thing too. I just cannot help myself. I think I do it because then i will not be tempted to eat the junk.
I do! Especially the day my husband ate like 4 tablespoons of peanut butter with his waffles for breakfast. Oh and one day we went out for a company day at a baseball game and one of the managers told me he ate like 2 burgers, a hot dog, a portobello mushroom burger, and a veggie burger (along with a soda, chips, mac salad, etc). I burst out with something like, "That's my calorie alottment for the entire week!" Oops!
Thanks for your replies. My friends make jokes out this, they really don't get mad. But it is funny how I expect everyone to count calories as well. I remember when I quit smoking 9 years ago I expected all of my friends to quit as well and complained about anyone who smoked. Now I just say it's your health and I guess after some time, I will not pay attention on what other people eat.
