Addicted to over eating again!! Help :S

Quote  |  Reply

I used to eat way too much food even when i wasn't hungry and let myself get to feeling uncomfortably full.

Recently started counting cals and lost weight- great!! :)

Now I am feeling more confident in my body and let my counting lapse a bit and now am almost back where i started however haven't gained any weight yet thankfully.

How can i get out of this loop of overeating ???

Anyone else been in this situation, got any tips and advice?

Also what sort of food could i snack on?

xx

Yeah, I'm goin' through a similar phase now.

I'm simply shifting my mindset back to the way it was when I first living a new lifestyle. I just have to keep focused, go back to eating only the healhty foods I was eating, and get back to working out super hard, day-in, day-out.

I got sidetracked because I'm getting comfortable in my new body, and because I'm going through a bit of a depression. But I'm gonna try super hard to get back on the trolley!

Oh god I have the exact same problem. Its like, impossible to overcome >.< Or it feels like it, anyway. My main problem is working out--I stopped for a while, and thats my problem. I think its because when I work out I a) Burn calories and b) Dont want to eat to undo the work I just did.

So maybe resetting a work out plan will work for you ^.^

My nutritionalist suggested cutting diwn on sugar.

There are also various herbal supplements that might help, especially if your feeling blue :(

yep. i'm an overeater too. i did it last night, i went to the store and bought some special k cereal. luckily i thought it out, i knew i was going to binge, so i tried to eat the lowest cal thing that would satisfy my craving. but i still binged, and ate it when i wasn't hungry.

i agree it feels impossible to overcome. i get so much satisfaction out of eating. for me it's a nervous habit. i do it when i don't have anything else to do and i start getting jumpy. what is beginning to work for me is taking a long walk. this is what i should have done last night, but i didn't.

i'm struggling too. so maybe we can all just monitor our progress, that seems to be helping me.

((also, smoking pot really hurts my chances of making it through a day without **** up my diet. some people can't give up alcohol when they're on a diet, and i can't give up pot. but i'm going to try. i think this is one of the major keys to success for me. ))

I understand where you're at...I'm struggling with the same thing.  Hitting my weight and moving to maintenance brings new freedom, but also new challenges.  I've found the sure fire way for me to stay on track is to not buy the bad stuff.  If all I have around to eat is healthy foods (fruits, veggies, whole grains, etc.), when I do over eat a bit, it's not really that bad.  I feel gross, but not full of empty calories.  I figure at least it's nutritious.

Plus, for me, I can only eat so many carrots, or watermelon, or zucchini before I just stop grabbing for the food.

Don't know if that helps at all, but it's what helps me stay on track.
