Quote  |  Reply

Seriously...every morning I stop by and get a Skinny Iced Caramel Latte, although its not hurting my calories for the day, its definitely hurting my bank account!!!

Anyone have any recipes for a home made one???

I make my lattes at home with a small, stovetop espresso maker by Bialetti.  It's awesome.  I use unsweetened soymilk in mine.  You can buy the sugar-free caramel syrup at the store, but I just make mine plain or mix in some cocoa powder.  You save a ton of money, and you control what goes into your drink.  Mine comes out to 90 calories with 9 grams of protein, and costs me less than a dollar.

You could save ~$2 each day if you ordered a tall iced americano with a shot of caramel and added your own milk = ~$2.50

Our Gaggia Espresso machine has paid for itself in reduced trips to Starbucks. Grind your own beans (I love the smell every morning). Steam the milk alternative of your choice and add flavor if you want to (we don't). If you can find it give Hazelnut milk a try (I'm vegan). I personally like ir better than soy which is a little beany when steamed.
