Adding Fish back.

Quote  |  Reply
So I decided after a year of not eating eggs, chicken, meat, or fish (since I was feeling weak, ugly, old and wrinkly) I added fish back.....This caused me to gain, I didn't add anymore calories to my diet.....I gained 3 pounds, There has to be a reason.  Anyone had experience in this situation?

What kind of fish, how is it prepared?  A lot of prepackaged fish has salt in it.

Are you sure you are logging/measuring  correctly?

I agree with mrsdagle--definitely gotta be an issue with the sodium in the fish, or something completely and utterly unrelated. Weight fluctuates a lot, sometimes I'll lose or gain 5 pounds from one day to the next.

Make sure you keep track of exactly what you're eating for a couple days and see if your weight doesn't slope back down.
But How can It be the salt when I drink 8 cups of water each day?

It was prepackaged, But it was only 2 servings I ate the whole thing=120 calories, 60 calories is 1 serving.

Maybe Im just eating too much.  Oh  well new day tomorrow.  =)

I love fish. My faves are mahi mahi, trout, cod, tuna, and tilapia.

Yes, buy fresh fish and grill it or just cook it in a non-stick pan.  It will taste better than the packaged stuff and be better for you.

If it is sodium, it should be gone tomorrow with as much as you drink.

Except it didn't go away and I drank a lot of water!  I was 114.8 from 112!

Could this maybe be due yesterday's excercise, Because I excercised.
It could be a number of things...salt from the fish, the exercise from yesterday, not having a bm yet...I wouldn't panic over 2-3 lbs.  And I doubt eating fish automatically makes you gain.  I eat a piece of fish EVERY DAY and haven't seen a difference.

I know it's easier said than done (I freaked out when I gained after adding peanuts to my diet haha) but the weight will go away.  Give it a little time and don't obsess over the scale =)

Yes, I eat a lot of fish too and it has helped loose (not that you need to loose thebled).  It is a very healthy food and an excellent source of protein.  Try not to pay too much attention to the scale.  It is just depressing.

Its hard to forget about the scale, last time I forgot about the scale I gained 15 pounds.  It was scary.  After 3 months!

But ya I feel more happier energized and healthier with fish now, I feel a lot better than before, weird I dont evenfeel depressed anymore.....I guess It's true that the food you eat does matter, Not the dumb calorie.

Anyways it just kind of sucks that I have such a low metabolism and I only eat 1,500 calories.  =/  Oh well thanks!
Yep.  it's Hell.  but It's my fault, I could control it.  I myself make it Hell.  No one else's fault  =)

2 pounds is nothing.  Personally, I can retain up to 12 pounds of water from one salty food day.  It doesn't go away all at once and it will cause you to retain some of that water.  You're being too hard on yourself.  Relax and have some fun and stop worrying about 2 little pounds.

If I stop worrying about 2 little pounds, Those 2 little pounds turn into 20 little pounds.  I can't just ignore them when they are there, And still are on me by the way.  I can see them and feel them no doubt.  But it's nobody's fault but my own.  Thanks for advice though!  =)
