Adding a food to the log....
Okay, help me out someone! I added a food to my log yesterday that isn't in the list of foods on the site. So of course I had to fill out that little form with the nutrients. Now I've had that item again today. Do I have to fill out the form again??? I see that it wasn't added to the foods list.
So my question is, do I have to add the item manually everytime I eat or drink something that isn't on the list or is there some way I can access it from before?
Reason: Moved from Weight Loss to Calorie Count Plus forum
You can access yesterday's food log and then tag it as a favorite, then go to tagged items and add it for today. Just make sure that you get "today" in the data report or whatever it's called. Did that make sense?
You don't have to fill out the whole form again. If you scroll down to the bottom of your food log, you can change the day from today to yesterday and view yesterday's food log. Then click on the food you added. Select tag this item. It will be added to your list of tags. Then you can switch back to today's log, view your list of tags, and add the item again.
Hahaha, I hate filling that form out! It actually took me a couple tries to figure out I didn't need to do that all the time.
Ohhhhhh!!! Got it, thank you!! The item I was logging is a new fiber drink mix made by All-Bran. I got pink lemonade flavor and it's like the mix ins for the water bottle. Get this, it has 10 grams of fiber in one serving. It was by far the most fiber of any of the fiber supplements. However, I find that, unlike Metamucil, it seems to make me hungry. Hmmm. Maybe it's all in my mind. I hope so.
Anyhoo, thanks so much for helping me with that dilemma!!!
In regards to adding your own nutritional info....does anyone know if it is possible to change the serving sizes of those "hand entered" foods? For example, I entered the info for a particular wrap but noticed that even when I changed the grams to indicate I was only having half, the nutritional values did not reflect that. Anyone have any ideas?
I've only been on this site about a month now. So, I'm probably not the best advice giver here
The one problem I find with the adding your own foods ability, is that after it's added and entered if you put in 1/2 the quantity eatten when logging the food sometimes it will automatically compute the results and sometimes it doesn't.
My guess would be if you want to halve the info then you'll have to do it manually by halving all the nutrients when you enter them.
If you want to save your own food, go to your entry that you made yesterday and tag it - that'll put it into your 'tagged items' list so you can re-add it as many times as you want... or else you can just look back through your log and find when you had it last time and then click on it and re-add it (but make sure it gets added to to the right day!)
If I have a different portion, I just change all the numbers by hand - I'm getting good at halving decimals in my head! :P

So you can keep track of what you eat - which enables you to analyze your foods and receive the following:

- Warning when you approach your daily calorie limit
- Overview of the good and bad nutrients
