Adding Friends

Would someone tell me how to add friends?

I see all the information but searching help etc. doesn't lend me the information (well at least I can't find it)

It's weird. You have to find them in the forum and then click on their name. It will then and only then give you the option to add them. I don't know why it is not easier.

The link to add is "add buddy" about the person's profile, btw.
