How to adjust exercising to "maintain" weight loss
'm wondering if you all could let me know what I should do to maintain my weight as far as exercising goes.
To lose, I was in the gym 5X a week, starting out doing 30 min cardio, then 40 min, then 50, then up to an hr of cardio. Usually the elliptical, at a level 5 to 6. Plus some pilates afterwards (mostly core work).
This killed me, and I know I don't have to keep doing it, otherwise I would keep losing. How can I modify my program so that I can maintain my weight. (intensity, duration and days a week). How much cardio do I really need?
I've upped my calories from 1000 (to lose, which was not good I know) to 1300 on sedentary days and 1500-1600 work out days. Never creating a deficite lower than 1200 I've learned. Just need a little bit more advise on the exercise aspect. :)

You could probably drop the cardio down to 30 minutes each time.
Drop the cardio down and, if you're not already, start weight training. If you do about 30 mins of cardio 5x a week and weight training 3-4x a week, you should be good.
If you want to build any muscle, on workout days add in extra calories, your body needs calories past your maintenance allowance on workout days if you want to build muscle.

Sounds fair enough. What level intensity should I shoot for?
