Adoption

Hey all,

I'm only 23, but I still am starting to think about this a lot lately. I really think I want to adopt a child rather than have my own, simply because the world is overpopulated and there are so many children out there who need homes. Specifically, I would love to adopt a Chinese girl; I've been enamored with the culture all my life and it's just something I connect to.

My husband and I are capable of having our own children, but I have a heart condition and honestly, the thought of putting my body through pregnancy scares me. So we're thinking adoption.

Has anybody done this? Specifically, has anyone adopted from China or has anybody been adopted from China here? Any tips, advice, words of warning, etc?

Thanks!

My brother-in-law and his wife adopted from Russia.  The kids are great, but it was a very stressful ordeal for them to get them.  I think adoption is a wonderful thing, but it can also be very difficult and expensive.  Good Luck.
