I was wondering if anyone here has been diagnosed with Adrenal Fatique and if so, would you mind sharing some of your diet habits. I am aware, for instance, that importance is placed in trying to maintain a constant sugar level so diet should be adjusted by eating certain foods only at certain times of day.
I am actively correcting my sleeping habits, attempting to alleviate most stress in my life (Ha Ha - isn't that a funny!) adjusting my exercise routines and working at amending my diet so that my consumption can in every way possible assist in repairing the adrenal glands. I have not been diagnosed with Adrenal Fatique but, since the repair consists of a healthy lifestyle change, I see no harm in a little self-diagnosis just this once! I will stop short of self-diagnosing in regard to supplements and will seek medical advice in that regard.
Any comments - your symptoms, what you eat, your daily routine, etc. would be greatly appreciated! Thank You.

I'm a massage therapist and I've seen many clients with adrenal fatigue. She sought holistic help (massage, chiropractor, and accupunturist) and didn't have a lot of success with "western" - DOCTORS... but - check with your doctor to confirm that it is definately adrenal fatigue and he should be able to determine what might be CAUSING it. So many hormones work with each other to produce effects, which means a ton of different events could be causeing your problem. I don't know YOUR symptoms... and I'm not a doc so I can't diagnose - - - but it could be MANY things (example.. if you're tired a lot that's also something the people with thyroid problems complain about)... and it could be cause by several different things. Please let me know if you do get to a doctor and what they say because the stressors of today's world really have an affect on people and I wish you 100% the best. I have a lot of books as resources and any knowledge I can share with you - I definately will!!!!!
If you can get to a doc - make sure that adrenal fatigue IS what you have, but, you're right, a healthy lifestyle can't hurt ANYTHING. Write back

evogirl_nfs: I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism about 6 years ago and have been taking levothyroxine at various levels - currently 0.2 mg per day.
I have a very busy, active life - not unlike 95% of the population - but a lot of recent stress as well - death of both parents, family illness, family matters, etc. I have never been a good sleeper and I bought into the myth that if I could get at least 6 hours per night I was average.
I started looking into the Adrenal Fatique because, one day I just listed all my symptoms, hit "search" and there it was - right out of the Mayo Clinic website. I am so frustrated because i have been unable to lose any weight for months now. So, I thought I would start looking into it and a lot of my symptoms may be correctible without requiring medical assistance. I figure, I can try on my own and, if I am not successful, go ask the doc. I have an appt. scheduled with an endocrinologist at the end of June and another with a nutritionist next week but thought I would get started on my own.
What I am really trying to figure out at the moment, is the best times of day to eat what. Any help you would have on that would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you antoinette. I knew about the first link but not the second so I will be sure to check it out.
I was just diagnosed with Adrenal Fatique syndrome. My doctor has prescribed some supplements and I was told to read a book by Dr. James Wilson called Adrenal Fatique. You can go to the website http://www.adrenalfatigue.org/ or order it from Books-a-Million. I haven't gotten the book yet, as I was just diagnosed on Oct. 1st. I hope that helps.
