How to advertise gift wrapping services?

So I'm a very domestic person and I am a star gift wrapper.  I'm not even kidding.

I don't really know any stores that hire people for gift wrapping since bands and stuff do a lot of rund raising for gift wrapping.. but I'm just curious if anyone had any ideas as far as how to advertise gift wrapping and other holiday services?

I really need the extra cash, so it's important for me to get out there and try to see what happens!

I post ads all the time on Craigslist, but not much ever comes from them.. :(

Have you tried Kijiji?
Maybe ask around at local senior centers or retirement homes.  Maybe expand your skills with a little personal shopping.  Advertise as a gift shopper and wrapper?

it seems the challenge here is distance between you and the things to be wrapped. i despise wrapping, but neither would i drive far and pay you to wrap unless i had all my xmas gifts and brought them all to you. hmmmm...yes.

if you could set up a little kiosk or booth at christmas bazaars and seasonal shopping events and such... so that people who are out shopping could drop their packages with you that they dont want to carry around... that might be a good way to market yourself and get your name out there to build a clientele.

all you would need is a little rolly cart and those wrapping paper organizers and samples of your mad wrapping skillz... in terms of working a booth, that would be relatively portable compared to say... someone who sells chainsaw art or rocks haha.

Print or have printed a professional looking brochure, along with business cards, and then get out and pound the pavement.  (try Vistaprint.com...they have some freebies that you can get too, one of them being magnetic signs for the doors of  your car)

Hit the office buildings, and deliver the information, or do a direct mailing to the business execs.  Those are the guys that can afford your services, and don't have time to either shop or wrap.  Ask to leave your information at trendy, expensive boutiques and shops. 

A newspaper ad that starts in late October/early November, placed in the sports section of the newspaper so that men see it, might bring you some results too.

Volunteer your services for patients at the local hospitals, and then toot your horn about it...try to get an article about the volunteer service you're providing in the local newspaper.
