Advertising Rant

Quote  |  Reply

OK ~ is it just me or does anyone else get sick of the ridiculous advertising on CC?? Seriously, we're supposed to be promoting healthy lifestyle changes, and they have some impossibly thin woman sporting a patch that made her skinny or the "1 flat stomach rule" or whatever video it is that has the 2 girls in bikinis and of course the colon cleanse ad with the girl that needs to eat about 20 cheeseburgers smiling with a thumbs up cuz she lost all that "crap" from her colon. Seriously. I'm in a cranky mood and looking at those ads always gets me irritated. Anyone else?

Thanks for letting me vent!

I hear what you are saying, but I believe because of these "sponsors" CC is able to continue and give us these wonderful tools.  Any one else?

I ignore those stupid adds.

It is those silly ads that pay for me to be able to use this site for free.  I need the tools on this site.  I can't do this by myself.  And I definitely can't pay for a membership to a similar site.

True, they promote an unhealthy quick fix.  But anyone who is truly committed to change will see the other successful members and how they progress on their journey.  The newer members will try to mimic and put those practices into play in their own lives.

I use Jayne (sun123) as my example.  It took her about 2 years to get to where she is now.  It wasn't a quick fix.  It wasn't a pill or potion.  It was sheer determination and hard work.

You didn't put this weight on over night, and you most definitely will not take it off over night.  Patience.  My dear, Patience.....

I guess I just get sick of seeing the "ultra thin" as the ultimate standard that these sponsors put before us. I am not tempted to use their products, I just get irritated being subjected to looking at underweight girls promoting ridiculous "cures" for overweight.  I guess, insulted would be a better term. I realize their $$$ makes it possible for us to use the site without charge ~ and that is a blessing. I just wish there was a less visual way to advertise their "miracle" products!!!

Geesh! I'm still juiced up about this and it's been over 12 hours. You'd think I'd really find something better to fill my day with!! hee hee hee
