any advice concerning yoga
Good morning,
I am looking for some good relaxation techniques. I succumb to stress quite easily. Exercise seems to help me a bit but I really think I need some extra ideas. Can someone recommend a DVD or a good website that would show me some basics positions. I really can't afford to take a class right now. Thanks!

I am so glad you posted this. Besides the $$, it is the time for me that is difficult. I have been trying some poses I got out of Prevention magazine, but sometimes I am not sure if I am doing them exactly right. I look forward to reading the responses. Thank you for sending this in.
Hello! I know what you mean about stress! I am taking a yoga class at the university and I LOVE it. I saw this website posted on a different forum. FREE! Also, you might check out the local public library for books or videos. You can also rent them sometimes from places like Blockbuster. Good luck and enjoy!

I just got this great DVD from Avon and I love it! ![]()
It's called Yoga for Weightloss (30 minute Quck start) by Gaiam. The website is 2222.gaiam.com.![]()
The 30 minute is actually about 20 when you fast forward pass all the talking. I am doing it first thing in the morning and it is making be much more limber. Not sure if it is going to make me 'loose weight' but it is definatly helping me get toned.
My favorite relaxation DVD is this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Relaxation-Breathing-Me ditation-Rodney-Yee/dp/B000094J6K
I try to do it on the days when I am really stressed out (a couple times a month), and find that the poses are all really easy to do.
The only problem I tend to run into is that I get so relaxed that I forget to concentrate on my breathing and fall asleep on the floor. hehehe
You can watch a small portion of it on youtube:
