advice on meal schedule PLEASE
I wanted to get advice on a better eating schedule.
i end up being up late and because i don't get enough in during the day I end up eatin TONS at night. Sometimes this is brought into overdrive though by insecurities. (which i talk to a professional about)
I wanted some advice on how to develop a regular healthy meal plan and how many hours per day to eat.
I exercise daily, as directed by doctors. I'd say for about an hour-hour and a half tops, of low impact slow yoga with some resistance cardio for my heart.
I get about anywhere from 2200-2500 on good days. but that is just combined from 1-2 meals and the second being way late at night.
On bad days of binge i end up taking in anywhere from 3500-4200.
What do I do? Any advice? I can't have sugar and stuff but find on bad binge days i go straight for what I am not supposde to have. Seriously I can't have sugar and some other things because they make me sick, i have a health condition that makes these foods cause reactions like super low heart rate, severe abdominal intestinal pain etc.
I'm 5' almost 1" currently 98lbs.
how much protein should i be getting? i noticed that unless i get at least 90grams a day my body goes nuts.
Have you thought about splitting up your meals better? Some people do better eating 4-6 smaller meals a day. This can help to keep hunger away, and for some, can lessen the chance of a binge due to hunger. I usually try to do Breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, dinner. For instance, if I were to eat 2200 calories, I'd split it up something like this:
Breakfast: 650 cals
Snack: 150 cals
Lunch: 650 cals
Snack: 150 cals
Dinner: 600 cals.
This way, you don't feel like you are cramming so much into the end of the day.
How does your body go nuts when you eat under 90 grams of protein? Is this when your binges kick in? You might want to take a look at your carbs. I'm not into pushing low carb, but you should still pay attention to what kind of carbs you are eating. Stay away from the "white" pastas and breads. These kinds of carbs will cause your blood sugar to spike and that messes with a person's insuline levels. Go for the whole wheats and grains such as wheat bread, wheat pasta, oatmeal, and things like that.
thank you peaches for writing a breakdown for me this will help i am going to try that instead. yeah the binges usually are when i am not getting enough protein. i noticed until i hit over 90grams i still crave everything in site and sugar a lot.
i can't have white bread and refined carbs so that is what i go for immediatly when i get into binge mode and it is bad cuz the next day i get really sick from it. but it's like at that moment i feel like an addict because my body doesn't care it just wants it no matter what.
im' noticing that not enough protein causes these insane craving binges for what i am not supposed to eat.
