Affordable gyms in Delaware?

Quote  |  Reply

Does anybody know of any affordable gyms in the Newark/Wilmington, Delaware area?

I'm new to the area and I used to be a member of a Planet Fitness gym in the Northeast for a cheap $10/mo. Now there doesn't seem to be any Planet Fitness near me or gym that doesn't have a hefty sign-up fee and large monthly fee.

Have you tried looking at local community centers or YMCA's. It might not be $10 a month, but it might be cheaper then other places.

Thanks for the advice. I'll have to look around for some community center. I did look at the YMCA, but they are pretty expensive. I'd probably be better off going to the gym versus attending the Y.

I'm having this same problem, I live in DE. My friend lives in Philly and just signed up with Planet Fitness for 20/mo! Its not fair Yelllol

Yeah, there are a lot of great gyms out there with a wealth of amenities, but Planet Fitness was great because it was just the basics - treadmills, bikes, weight machines and free weights.

And because they weren't paying for upkeep on a pool, raquetball court, basketball court, steam room, etc., they can afford to offer their members a cheap rate.

I've decided since its getting warmer I'm going to just use the great outdoors...for FREE lol. I plan on beginning to start walking and jogging. DE has plenty of trails and tracks so that is one good thing.

Hi! meeker75 Where at in Northeast Philly is Planet Fitness

If your looking in NE Philly, you can also take a look at retro fitness.  They are only $20.00 a month as well.
