Afraid I'm eating too many calories. Please Help!
OK so, I read the book cover to cover and thought it made a lot of sense. But when I calculated how many calories I should be eating for matinence I got a little worried. I play competitive volleyball and we have practice 2 hours every morning so on days when I lift and have practice I counted it as Strenuous work and a work out and the equation said I should be eating 2700 calories a day. That would mean that if I ate 30% of those calories from protein i would need a little over 200 grams of protein. Then I would eat somewhere around the 2300 mark on days when I only had volleyball because I counted that as a singular workout and then about 2000 on Sunday because thats my day off. I know I work out a ton but 2700 calories and 200 grams of protein sounds high, no? Any input or personla experience would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
Oh if it helps I'm 5 11 and 170 pounds which gives me a BMI of 24 and I'm 17. Thanks!
Probably you need to eat more than that, as you are still in your teens. Try this calculator instead, which is the one the CC moderators would send you to in helping to determine your requirements.

I plugged your stats into that, and given your extremely high activity level, that comes up with 3470 calories. That's a daily requirement. I know it sounds like a lot, but you must fuel your body and your activity so you stay healthy and strong.
A lot of the women starting the book get worried about the number of recommended calories, but it's really important to eat enough to maintain your activity level as well as eating the healthiest food you can.
Whew, I barely could reach 2700 today. I don't think I could literally eat 3400 calories of healthy food. I got my ratios right today so I'll try to keep at it. Thanks for answering.

So you can keep track of what you eat - which enables you to analyze your foods and receive the following:
