age 45-50 group. Anyone interested?
I have looked for twins and poked around other groups without finding a real support group.
I am 48, 5'5", SW 151, CW 134, GW 128
I am the school teaching mother of three in their upper teens, wife of my 3 lbs from goal hubby.
SO...
Anyone interested?
What age group do you teach again? That might make the decision on educational!!!!! sorry I know you were talking to VM!![]()
I don't mind a wider conversation canlose, I asked VM because she used to teach.I teach 7th and 8th grades in a small Christian school.
I sent the note home, so Monday morning ..we're walking! ![]()
Wish me luck with my lonely rum and coke for tonight's party.
or should it be
?
Oh my goodness - Johnny Depp. Oooooooh. I could burn some serious calories just thinking about that
Let's think about the educational angle - oh what about media appreciation!!
It coud be educational watching the teachers reaction to Johnny Depp!!!! The questions may be VERY interesting!!!!! LOL Oh and Aly we will all decide which smiley face you deserve when we get details tomorrow!!!! I really am glad you have a sense of humor...errr I at least hope you do!!!!![]()
![]()
<<< which face will it be!!!!
<<< Maybe? Have fun!
wine, two glasses.
Hope my 50th party is more fun!
Ahh but you will have to wait for Monday! Actually Hubby and I plan a walk through town tomorrow just to see all the changes...the movie takes place in the 1930's. So if Johnny is hanging about, I'll let you know.![]()
Ok GOLD STARS FOR YOU PLUS
! Now When is the birthday! If you get an innocent smiley then I WILL be dissappointed !!!!!!!!! My 49th is 6/26 and I don't care if I am still at 141 I'm hoping to have a great dinner AND some happy drinks!
Birthday calories don't count! (If I were making the rules!) So of course you forget all about weight on your day
.
Mine is past for this year, turned 48 at the end of Feb. and even though I was mid diet, I truly enjoyed a massive dinner...including the chocolate fondue desert!
hi all!
Haven't been posting for awhile but it was SUCH FUN reading up on all your ladies have been up to. I'd like to take a glance in Johnny Depp's direction - what fun!
I've been a long-term substitute teacher for several years now (usually 6 to 12 weeks at a time) so I can appreciate your field trip with the students - I'd say it fit into "current events-social studies".
Hope you are all doing well. Alylou, my birthday is late February as well, for me, it was the 45th and I started CC+ a few days later. So I did get to enjoy a "guilt-free" meal because I wasn't watching calories yet! lol!
Canlose - you absolutely just go out and enjoy your 49th in June - no calorie worries. You've earned it.
We've got some killer-hot weather today in Arizona -- around 96* -- so any exercising I do is going to be indoors or after sunset today. I haven't been too faithful about exercising -- excuses, excuses, -- but I'm gonna' try to do better this week.
Have a great week everyone, thanks for the fun posts!
Heeeres Johnnny!
That was my text message to my daughter this morning. We watched the filming of a bank robbery this morning! Johnny and co coming out of "bank" (one of my daughter's senior pict was taken on those steps!) and Johnny grabs a cop and holds him by the neck. We were kept at quite a distance...my poor little digital camera was not up to the job...but the kids were thrilled, and we all found our transformed little town charming.
I'll look over my photos and maybe post a few...![]()
History, media studies, even art! A fun way to spend an hour and a half!
Oh!Oh!Oh!!! silly me, so star struck I forgot to shout from the roof tops! I hit my original goal this am! 132 , 4 lbs to my final goal and yippee!
Hi Girls! Glad you had a fun weekend! I am back to 139 today! YIPEEEEEE if it will just keep going on down the scales I will for certain celebrate my birthday without guilt!!! But hey thats not till June so who knows by then...... about that exercising thing......I just can't seem to make myself do it lately and if it were 96 degrees I would be using that as my "excuse of the day" like here in N.C. it is 31 today was 70 yesterday but we just had a brief sleet/snow/rain event so GOSH I CANT EXERCISE IN THAT! Yes I know I use a treadmill which IS indoors but lets not get into so many details! LOL Anyway have a great day!
Hi all, I'm having a blah day. Feeling kinda whiny. Not good, need to shake it off and do something. I think I'll go home and take my dogs for a long country walk...now thats something to look forward to!
Hope you all are in a better state: full of energy and purpose!
Can:congrats again!. the normal bouncing around is sure psychologically damaging when it happens right between 10s...139

...hang in there, the 140s will soon be in your dust!
ARG! What was God thinking when he made hormonal/menopausal women in charge of hormonal/teen daughters? Sorry but I have one driving me nuts this week.
Well this group is large already. Can you fit one more in?
I'm 46, Divorced. 2 Grown daughters and 3 grandkids.
I lost it all 4 years ago. The weight and the husband (in that order) I weighed 205 and got down to 117 (too skinny) 130 is good for me. I'm at 152 right now and I want to get control of it before it gets control of me.
So, tell me, please; how does your support system work? Do you have weekly weigh-ins? Does anyone monitor exercise? Is there anyone that will say, " Get off your butt and go take a hike?"
Sorry everyone for not posting for a while - been feeling a bit down and I kinda hide away when that happens.
Britt - hiya. I joined this group pretty late and though it is large I have always felt a big welcome so don't worry about it
People here seem to vary on the weigh-in thing. Some weigh daily and others (like me) weigh on a weekly basis (in my case Friday). Nobody monitors my exercise - but if I need ideas/support/motivation I can get plenty of support from the forum. So welcome and {hugs}
Hiya can and alylou howya doin?
Laughed at what you said about menopausal women in charge of hormonal/teenage daughters alylou - I'm 47 and my daughter is 14 so yeah I can identify with that one!!!!
Anyway - just wanted to poke my head out of my hidey hole and start saying hello again.
Hi to Britt and hi again to Veganmamma and everyone else-
I also loved the comment about 40-something moms and their teenage daughters. My daughter is 17 and we usually just have a great time together . . .but BOY there are DAYS!
So many of us seem to be having "blah" days -- me, too. I don't know what set me off but yesterday and today I just feel like staying in bed. Here's something stupid that happened last night: I made a healthy meal for the family (turkey teriyaki with brown rice, pineapple, veggies, etc). I thought it was good and my kids liked it but my meat-and-potatoes-husband just couldn't enjoy it. He really tried to be nice about it, but I could see him just thinking "yuck". So after running an errand, I stopped to buy him some ice cream. It's kind of our in-house joke that if either of us goes out in the evening, we'll always holler "bring me some ice cream" as the other is leaving. Well, anyway, I bought him a DQ Blizzard AND a cheeseburger to "make up" for the dinner he didn't like. Believe me - I love DQ and it was H-A-R-D not having one for myself. So, as he is eating his (and my daughter has one, too), he says, "where's your ice cream?" Are you kidding me? A DQ Blizzard - that's gotta' be enough calories for 2 whole days! I haven't really been feeling deprived since I started CC, but that comment just threw me all off kilter.
Arrgh - I ended up eating 2 slices of watermelon instead, and being kinda' mad. So, that's my "blah" story - I know it isn't a big deal, but I figured some of you might relate.
Hang in there -
It's me again - hmmm . . .are you sick of me posting?
I gotta' update the last post. Did you read the thing about my husband and the DQ Blizzard? Well, that was last night. Tonight -- he comes home from work and precedes to hand me a Snickers bar that he bought for me. R U KIDDING ME? I just gave him "a look" and he said, "oh, can't you eat that?". My always-thin husband doesn't have a clue. When I said "no" he said "well, I don't know what you can and can't eat." I wanted to scream -- 'I can't eat Snickers and Ice cream and still lose weight', but settled for, "I don't eat calorie-laden candy and desserts." And, I added, "do you have any idea how hard this is?" No, he doesn't.
AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!![]()
(To his credit, he is a really nice guy, but we don't ever talk about things like losing weight, therefore, he simply doesn't know what to say. You know, it's the "does my butt look big?" dilemma - either way, the answer is gonna' get you in trouble)
Hi friends! It's just in the air I think (the blahs). I do have good news I'm FINALLY down another lb
138!!!!!! 138.8 but still its 138! I made the FATAL mistake of going out this weekend with an EX boyfriend (the one that can eat anything and stay thin) he was not in the slightest way encouraging about my weight loss (not one compliment) as a matter of fact all he said was "YOU'VE LOST YOUR BOOBS" I think you're too skinny.....well excuse me but I believe my boobs are down near my belly cause I just cant get rid of this roll... LOL.. the rest is actually looking close to what I would consider my goal....AWWWWW
yes there is a reason they are called EX'S!!!!!!!! Hope everyone elses weekend is going better!!!
Hey all!
I was on a get-away with 8 other moms this weekend. *bliss*
We rent a house on Lake Michigan a few hours away and pack enough food and drink for a month. We laughed till we cried and ate way too much and my oh my but it was good!
I had my blahs last week, and will again Monday when I step on the scales...did i mention how many bags of M&Ms went with us? but right now I am happy to be alive.
My hormonal daughter went college visiting with her father (he is a professor) this weekend, so it looks like her stress levels will be dropping too. amen!
Brit: Welcome! I walked miles this weekend, but I have GOT to get more active on a regular basis...but where is the time? What time of day do you work out?
Vegan: 14...I would not want to go through 14 again! either a mom of one or as one!...but then again...it was better than 13!![]()
Justa:I'm sure he is absolutely wonderful in many ways....but ....wow ! royally clueless!!! Maybe a suggestion that if he wants to "treat" you he get you a book, CD, magazine, flowers, or a even a little bottle of bubble blowing solution! ( I love bubbles!) but not a bit of food! maybe that would work?
Can: EX indeed, you have good taste to have walked away from that! He is just jealous that you're getting thin and beautiful and are NOT his!
gotta go..stacks of tests on Teddy Roosevelt to grade...
Hi all.
Britt/Justamom - how are you doing?
Alylou - grading papers
- still the trip away sounds great. I'll have to google Lake Michigan now cos I've never been abroad except to Australia (a LONG time ago)
Can - why is it that men think they can comment on boobs???????
If any guy (even an ex) said to me I'd lost my boobs I'd love to say "well your ........ is pretty small as well but I don't comment" Alylou is right - you have taste - you didn't lower yourself to his level (as I undoubtedly would have!!) and definitely he's jealous that you're not his - think of it... now he's out of your life you are doing positive things and looking GOOD. What does that say about his influence while you were with him??
My son's 3 year relationship ended a couple of months ago and he changed his whole attitude to his health and lost a ton of weight. He's really looking good now and all his ex could say was negative stuff (same jealous crap!)
Anyway - gotta go. Forgot to say I did my weigh in - lost another 1lb. It's getting there - slow but sure.
