Just had my B-Day so now is the time to get back on track.  No more holidays no more excuses.

Laurie you are right about that one day to just have what you want That system has worked for me in the past.  I do it once every other week.

Adarana hope you get some sleep.

momof2 hope your mom is feeling well soon.

Axej msg seems to mess a lot of people up.  Hopefully you won't have that problem again.

Jaz

Sounds like a good idea Truus. How did we do that? Do we just take turns posting some info? It would be nice since there are quite a few new friends.

Janet

That does sound like a good idea.  I don't know if I did it the 1st time though. Brain cramp! lol

I had a trip to the ER last night. I fell last night and had to go to the ER and I was there for 6.5 hours.  I wrote about it in my journal if you wanna know more.  But I slept all day from the meds they gave me and I still feel like I could sleep some more.  So I don't think I'll be having trouble getting to sleep tonight.

My mom was sick yesterday. but she had a good day Saturday.  One treatment down, 3 to go.

Have a nice night everyone!

Tammy how bad luck, you could do with a break though. Hopefully you'll be alright once you "wake up".

The last time we did this was post 570 - we all mailed to Aly our info, and she put it in one post and edited the post when more info came in. Considering how long ago that was, I guess some of the info would need to be updated, so let's do it all over again. If you guys mail me, I'll make a post out of it.

What to mail:

SW = starting weight GW = goal weight CW = current weight

AND of course any info about yourself that you would want the rest of us to know. Here's what mine will look like, but make yours any way you feel like:

Truus or Tru, Danish. Location: Netherlands. Age: 45. Marital status: married for 20 years. Daughters Emma (16) and Sofie (10), no pets. 5,3, sw 191,4 cw unknown (lower), gw 143 but aiming for 158 first, see how that feels. Hypoglycemic - no sugar allowed. Sociologist, my own boss: mental coach for athletes of all levels incl youngsters aiming to become pro's. Workshops for sports coaches on how to work with children and youngsters in order to build their self-confidence and keep them motivated, and for parents of children and youngsters on high levels.

Hey Janet, I hope the surgery goes well for you on Thursday!!!

Okay in the movie Marley and me - I have to know does Marely die??? If so then I don;t ever want to see the movie - it will make me cry!!! I live with a  hunter - but I am a major animal lover!!! 5 dogs (all outside of course) 2 cats and 4 horses oh and another dog at work!!! . I used to have cows but we took them to the market and that was too much of a heart breaker for me!!! I don't have pigs because they are really smart and my husband likes pork too much!!! Goats eat everything and my horse killed one once - anyway you get the idea!! I am rambling!!!

I saw Marely and Me. Look, if you are an animal lover (as I am) you should definitely go see it. Crying is good. It has a great message and you should not deprive yourself of lifting your spirit when it comes to animals just because you don't want to sniffle just a little bit in a movie theater! I would recommend it.

Thanks for the heads up!! My best friend lives out of town and she is thinking of coming to town next weekend - I think I will wait and go with her!!! I guess go idea to bring tissue!

HI All -

Good to hear from everyone - except where's Connie??? OH Connie, can you hear us?

Tru - I liked your summary of who is a 'regular' and who isn't. I've often scanned through our posts trying to figure that exact thing out. I do miss some of our old friends a lot. A couple of times I went through and checked their individual profiles to find out if they were even still on CC, most of the times, they weren't.

Momo- blessings to your mom, I hope she is doing better today.

Suz - hope you and hubby have cleared up the 'spat' - my husband went scuba diving in Cayman a couple of years back and loved it. Of course, with you in Bermuda, you know all about all those lovely islands.

Axe - I, too, think you are describing a hypoglycemic episode. I used to have them really severely in my 20s (when I was in grad school = loads of stress). I always felt this strange slowed-down, sluggish, almost out of body feeling. Then I would have some protein and orange juice and feel better almost instantly.

HI to everyone else. Hope you are all well. I like our "newbies" take on the CC plan. In many ways it is just simple math -- but needs lots of will power, too. Keep up the good positive attitudes.

Sue

PS. I've got 2 upcoming med tests. I wrote about them in a "friends only" journal post - it is a little too private ("female problems") to write about in an open forum.

Hi All,

I'm still in the midst of crisis at home and at work.  I worked all this past weekend.  At first my weight dropped and now I'm eating everything is sight.  I'll be checking in when I get a chance and I'll be back as soon as the current ordeal is over.  Pray it will be soon.

Love to all, Lucy

justamom - no, I don't believe it to be my hypoglycemia, because it was unlike any hypoglycemic episode I have ever had.  Also, I was left with 2 days of lingering joint pain, which is more of an MSG response.  Also, eating some protein later should have cleared the problem if it were just my blood sugar - and it did not.

For now, I'm gonna treat it as an MSG issue.  Should it happen again, I'll see how the 2 episodes compare, and revise my opinion as needed.

Hi all!  No, I have not died, I am just swamped for a bit, and fighting a flu bug, so don't forget me, I'll be back!

Alylou

Edit: thinking about you Lucy...you are in my prayers.

Sue I responded to your journal..ditto what I said to Lucy!

Connie, oh Connie.....Cry.....your making me sad girl.....

Aly so good to hear from you: we'll NEVER forget youWink You want me to come around with some soup or something? You came hear when I was I'll after my dental thing in august - not that I remember of course, but you said you did, sooo... Cool

Connie - if it's about the smoking, I promise not to ask questions about that; this place just isn't quite the same without your ramblesTongue out

Lucy, we'll still be here, so we'll hear from you whenever you can and are ready. Hug for you!

Sue - I agree, apparently they don't expect anything serious, hold on to that thought.

Laurie that's a beautiful picture, did you take that?

Tammy how's your mum and how're you today?

Some of you have already mailed your info, it would be great if more of you would join. The idea is to make one post with this info on each one of us, making it easier to remember who's who and also a lot easier for people who've been "away" for a while for whatever reason or for newbies. In post 1484 you can see an example of what the info could look like, but feel free to do it your own way.

I'm hoping to get the info-post in as number 1500, that'd be nice and easy to remember Laughing Have a nice day wherever you are. Truus Smile

Tru,

I sent you my info for the post. Did you get it? I'm not sure I sent it right?

I hope that all the people who are not writing in are all ok. It's amazing how we've grown to worry about all these new friends we've never met in person. Hope everyone is healthy and happy.

Janet

No Janet, haven't received anything from you so far, try again Cool

Ok, this time I think it worked.
Janet

Thank you!! I did take that picture.  It was taken from my front yard. We get some of the most amazing sun sets!!! In fact, I have been to Key West Florida on  more than a few occasions.  Key West is famous for their sunsets - but I have never It is this time of the year when they are so amazing. Lauri

Hi Friends! I know I know you thought I fell off the earth or something.... Still doing well with the quitting smoking but have had half a pack since Jan 1 which is great for me. Weight is up to 140. The most I have weighed in almost a year but i WILL get it back off soon. You guys will have to help ok?? There are quite a few Newbies and I have alot of catching up to do. I will look forward to getting chatty with you all.

I've missed you all and I will get back to myself soon.....ramble ramble!

Hugs to everyone! Did I notice we finally have a real MAN that has joined us? If so thats great! Hope everybody's Happy healthy and losing!

Connie

Tru I just sent you my update.

Get well soon Aly

Keep up the good work Connie!!!  I am a former smoker too.  I used the gum to help me it really worked.  Then I slowly transitioned to regular gum.

I am getting back on track and being good now that my health is better.  The Dr might have to tweek my allergy meds but hey I can function again.  The test will be next week when I go to the rec and see if i have a problem with the locker room area.  You know there is always some form of mold there if you see it or not.  I was getting so sick after I went to work out so it sure would be nice if I can go and not have an issue.

Wow! I did not realize that I was the only man! That seems to be quite a commodity in this group. (I hope I can represent my brothers well.) Just to let any of you know...I am quite new to posting stuff on forums and certainly am a rank amateur at dieting/losing weight. I just have never tried before.

The "muffin top" squishing out the top of my jeans after the 1st of the year got me in gear. I finally got so sick of a major portion of my daily thoughts preoccupied with how fat I am getting day-by-day. Every day, my clothes were getting tighter and tighter. Several years ago, I bought some jeans (without my wife's help) that were waaaay to big and I never got around to returning them til it was too late. So I kept them. I stuck them in the back of my closet. Well, over the years, all of my other jeans were getting too tight. One day, I could barely squeeze into my normal jeans. When I did, it was so tight they gave me a darn headache with all of the pressure exerted around my belly. I saw those "fat boy jeans" way at the back of the closet and was shocked to find that they fit perfectly!

Another year or so went by, and now those same "fat boy jeans" are too tight. I'M SICK OF IT!!!! That is how I finally came to the realization that I have to take a serious look at what the heck is going on here. This web site is amazing because the most important thing, at least for me, is educating myself on the amount of calories I actually consume. You see...I don't have any psychological hang-ups about food, feel sorry for myself and comfort myself with food, etc, etc, etc... I just plain EAT TOO MUCH!

In my own defense, I really had no idea. This site has this amazing food log which is the key for me. Once I entered the foods I ate and saw the shear amount of calories I consume on a daily basis...wow! What an eye opener!

Since I now now how many calories I burn and how many calories go in my pie hole, it is jst left to simple math. I think the first 3 days were the hardest for me because I thought I was actually starving to death. My average caloric intake since I started (January 6th) is about 1450. If I keep walking/jogging my 3 miles per day, my caloric burn rate is just over 2800. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that the reason I have lost 6.5 lbs so far is because of this new awareness. I am still a little bit hungry most of the day, but it honestly is not so bad that I feel like cheating. I keep reminding myself "This is the gift I am giving to me!" I made friends with the hunger. "Hunger is my friend - not my enemy." As the days go on, the hunger is lesss intense.

Sorry for rambling on. Just thought I might share what I am going through so maybe y'all could hold me continuously accountable. I will weigh 180 lbs by April 15th!

Haiko ~ Yep! You are the only man, besides "Butch"! LOL  But he hasn't been around lately! hahahaha  Isn't 1450 calories too low for you?  If you burn 2800 you should be eating like at least 1800 cals.  You don't want a deficit too big.  It could hinder your weight loss and cause a plateau in no time. You gotta eat to lose.  Just alittle advice.

How am I doing, you ask....well, lots and lots of pain.  Can't wait to go to the dr on the 22nd again.  I spend alot of time there!  But, hey, that's what they're there for.  Falling on sunday really did me in.

My mom is alright.  She's a strong person and will get thru the treatments. My dad is just smothering her and she can barely stand it! lol  He just loves her so much. I always say that's what love is (when I look at them).

It's so cold here!  I went to Wally World (WalMart) and bought some good food for me and couldn't wait to get home and drink some hot chocolate!  It's 8*F out!  It's going down to ZERO tonight!  Probably school delay tomorrow.  I thought there'd be one this morning, but nope. My son was all disappointed. lol

We're getting more snow too!  Another 1-3" today.  I just love snow when I don't have to go out in it. hehe

I've gone on and on this morning!  I'll leave now and save room for someone else! Wink

Have a nice day!
