What age is it hardest to lose weight?

Quote  |  Reply

I am 34 years old and it seems impossible for me to lose weight. It has taken me 12 weeks so far to lose 9 lbs when i swear i used to lose 9 lbs in two - three weeks. What age does the weight loss process slow down?

Thanks.

I'm over 50 and it's been my experience the older you get the harder it gets

Ok I have nothing to back this up, but I have heard that weight loss slows down, particularly for women, because we lose a certain amount of muscle mass every year. If you keep up your muscle mass, losing weight isn't as much of an issue

For me weight loss began to dramatically slow down at the age of 40 - I also grew a tummy which had never existed before.  I lose, it just takes three times as long.

There's 2 really good articles that I've read. One is about thinking the metabolism is slow, when in reality we don't move as much as we realize, and we eat more than we estimate

Another good article I read is titled "The Busier We Get, the Fewer Calories We Burn" which can be found here

I'm not disputing the fact that age has a factor, but just pointing out there may be other factors we're not consciously aware of. Hope these articles help!
