Ah, i'd never heard about this until now, how bout you?
A two day hangover? I ah, overindulged on saturday night, felt like crap sunday, then woke up monday feeling at least as bad! despite having lots of water/fruit veggies to clear out the toxicity. anyone else had this problem? what did you do?
ps. it was bad... like i woke up sunday morning still quite drunk, the world was still spinning. But still, more than 48 hours later? Any thoughts / advice?
Well....
When my dad was young, he had 31+ bottles of beer. Old school beer. Apparently it's possible to drink that much yet still be okay...
Not quite okay, but for three days, he couldn't even drink water. :P And he learned his lesson. :P
My advice is that you just gotta drink lots of water and just stick through it.

Oh it happens. I'm lucky, I really never get hangovers, however, several of my friends overindulged a time or two in school and paid the price for it for a while...I think the longest one I remember was my buddy feeling sick for three days and just not feeling right for another two. There's really no way to "clear out the toxicity" of the alcohol except by the usual means of time. No matter how much water you drink or how many veggies you eat it takes your body a certain amount of time to process and get rid of a certain amount of alcohol. Water and fruit/veggies will help you feel as good as you can but like lemonjello said, you pretty much have to stick through it.
ask moody, this is a common occurance for her
wow thanks... that's reassuring. Because I did have alcohol poisoning once, and I was scared that I had done it again. I just need to keep sleeping I guess. :P thanks
Drink lots of water. It won't really help take away the hangover, but it'll help minimize damage(something in alchohol makes the kidneys unable to hold on to water and you get dehydrated).
You're prolly still dehydrated from a few days ago Have you been drinking lots of fluids?
If it doesn't cease in a week or so, I'd suggest asking a professional.
gatorade!
maybe you got a touch of food poisoning too?
but yeh..more than two days go to the doctor.
there are illnesses beyond food poisoning that require treatment that are like you describe.
you also could be sick from water loading/dehydration and missing electrolytes. ALWAYS have a jug of gatorade on hand for the next morning. chugging that and eating apples (apples help clear the liver) always keeps mine away.
My friend's had that before, she was ill for about 3 days,
A diet coke and packet of mini chedders and im right as rain!
I was thinking maybe you had a touch of alcohol poisoning. I had a slight case of it before and I was hung over for three days. It really sucked. When I got it, I was hurling my brains out for a few hours and was drunk pretty much the whole next day and then hungover another 2. I just slept most of it off. Drink water as all the others have said. When I used to drink and just get hangovers, I know this is going to sound sick, but I would always eat a burrito supreme from Taco Hell and for some reason it made me feel better. I think everyone has their own weird little cure for hangovers, and that was mine.
mine is soup with soft veggies... i think i crave it for all the lost salt. I feel a bit better today, but still somewhat spaced. plus i fell asleep at my computer desk for 2.5 hours. I think next time i should refrain from drinking the WHOLE mickey. This just sucks
:( oh well live and learn i guess.
i'm not very good at drinking, and when i did more often than i do now, i would get 2 day hangovers pretty often. not that i'm condoning drugs, but if you have a script of valium or some other type of tranquilizer, taking one will mellow you into a more tolerable state of mind, as will pain killers. (again, not condoning, just saying what works for me...)
gatorade could help, but never chug it. it's only meant to be sipped, going back and forth between that and water.
honey is supposed to be a cure. maybe spread some on toast or some crackers.
Bread and water...that's what I did when that would happen to me. Lots of bread and water and oh yeah...sleeeeeeeepppppppppp...
I have noticed that has been happening in my late 20s I dont bounce back as fast as I used to. I remember partying for 2 days str8 and showing up to work hungover as hell but i would go.
Now if I party hard I staet to feel like myself again by tuesday. Maybe its the amount it takes to get drunk or age.
Sleep, water, gatorade and aspirin.
oh good lord when I came back from mexico I ws hungover for like 3 days. I was out of it...I drank for a week striaght everyday, and barely ate anything all week, and the sun made it ten times worse...good god I feel like crap no joke 3 days I was like not all there, I dont know if it was alchol or heat stroke or what but I didnt make sense in what I was saying for 3 days...and I slept for the most of the first 2 days.
any type of alcohol is a toxin to the body. the body naturally tries to reject it. The last time I have one long-island iced tea I felt sick for 4 days. Off ONE drink! Guess thats why i dont drink anymore!
Anytime i go out drinking i come home shove some food down my throat, usually bread haha and lots of water. Then should i need to be sick i'll have something to be sick (i learnt my lesson one new years eve where i threw up blood because i'd not eaten allll day!)
I'm lucky my body generally gets rid of the toxins while i'm still drunk so i wake up a little worse for wear but functioning
When I was in my 20's I used to go out and drink quite a bit. Alot of the time waaay too much. I would get hangovers every time. My husband came up with a remedy for me that always settled my stomach and helped me bounce back. Chicken noodle soup out of the can, do not add any water to it and heat it up and eat it. It must have been because the alcohol depleted all my sodium or electrolytes or whatever but it worked every time. My husband was such a saint for taking care of me! One time I got so drunk on my birthday, came home and was sick all night into the next morning. He made me eat the chicken soup and I got so much better that we went out to eat at a restaurant for my birthday dinner.
nice... chicken noodle soup... i want some. day 4 and still not feeling well... maybe I got the flu at the same time and it's just conicidence? although these symptoms seem hangover ish
