Ahh...Goodwill

Quote  |  Reply
I spent $50 today on 5 pairs of dress pants, 6 shirts and a pair of Lucky ($100+) jeans, size 10.

I knew donating all of my old fat clothes HAD to be good kharma... Anybody else ever find good finds there?

I absolutely LOVE Goodwill! It's a great place for growing kiddies who outgrow their clothes within a few months' time. Not to mention people who are in the process of losing weight. You can find all kinds of stuff there.

Best-place-ever!

I love Goodwill. Art-damage heaven.

me234, I laughed out loud when I read your post.  Last week I went to the Goodwill looking for a pair of jeans because nothing I currently own fits.  I'm searching through the racks and one of the workers ask me what size I am looking for.  I say 8.  She has a pair of Lucky jeans in her hands in a size 8.

They look great, fit very well and were only $9.99.  I found several basics there to hold me over until I get to my weight loss goal.  By far the Lucky jeans were the best score!

I have never had much luck there, but my mom shops all the time and finds these crazy deals.  I get whatever doesn't fit or isn't her style.  Last year I got several NY&C sweaters with the tags still on.  Gotta love it!

I like Goodwill too, but I LOVE America's Thrift Store.  They are huge - mine took over an old Walmart and it's absolutely full.  They have THOUSANDs of pairs of jeans.  Their prices seem better than Goodwill too...I consistently get Old Navy and Gap jeans in good condition for $4-6 a pair.  More used condition are $3-4.  My local Goodwill asks $8-10 for them seemingly regardless of condition.

My hubby and I are trying to furnish our new place on very little money so we visit there a lot. Last week we got a wine rack for $5 after seeing a similar one online for $35, and the week before we got 2 end tables for $5 each. They are old Chinese shipping boxes and are so funky and unique! I love shopping around those stores, and it's great that its all for a good cause too!

As my dear boyfriend works for Goodwill, let me tell you that he LOVES people like you.

Anyone who appreciates a good buy when they see one WITHOUT haggling over the price with him is instantly in his good graces.

Believe me, you get all kinds of crazy rude disgusting people at Goodwill, and the employees really do appreciate people who are kind and gracious to them.
