AHHH 3 weeks till my husband comes home! NEED HELP!!
Hi everyone my name is Brittany and I am new at this. Its only my second day. But anyways I just found out that my husband will be home is 3 weeks and I haven't seen him in 5 months. I really would like to loose alittle bit of weight before he comes home to surprise him. They have me taken in 1,150 calories per day when I did the calculation thing, anyways all the help i could get would be GREAT!!! WHAT do I eat and how do I do this? I weight 149 now. PLEASE HELP! Thanks
I'm told you need to fill up on salads and vegtables, drink lots of water, and exercise every day. If only i could stick to it lol. But it sounds logical. Good luck though, if you do that i'm sure you'll look great when your husband gets home.

My mom started me counting calories when she told me that one week ago she had weighed 148lbs. and now was 143lb.; she had lost 5lbs, simply by bringing her calorie count down. She is on her second week and has gotten down to 139 1lbs. She is 65 yrs old so she has a slow met.. She walks to the beach so she does some light walking, and has stairs in her house. (but nothing big in the way of exercise). She never said what her calorie count used to be but she is keeping it about 1000 -1200 and she is 5'2 with small frame. Everything I read says get 500 less than what you need and you will loose weight. If I had a deadline like yours I may try to eat 800 less, provided I was not highly active or something like that. Then once he is back, I would go back to my slower calorie decrease because it is better for you. One other thing, if you don't have the ability to exercise out of the house and do not have equipment at the house...try jump roping. It is great for your heart and upper thighs. =) Plus the kids think it is pretty funny to watch mom skipping rope.=)
Thank you so much for all the help! That makes me feel real good. Im very excited and I am really going to try to give it my all. Thanks again:)

Who are they? 1150 is too few.
As sully said - 1150 is too low. The CC calculator will not recommend anything lower than 1200.
From everything i've read less then 1200 is unhealthy for two main reasons. First of all it can screw up your metabolism in the long run, and secondly you cant get enough nutrients while eating that little unless everything you eat is extremely nutrient dense and even then its difficult.
For a short period of time less then 1200 isnt extremely harmful to your metabolism though, just be sure its only a quick fix thing and you eat a healthier amount after your husband comes home. As far as nutrients go, at long as you are very aware of what you are eating and try and make good healthy choices it also shouldnt harm you much in such a short period. It still isnt recomended, but it wont cause extreme permanent damage or anything.

when i signed up and typed in all my information the eat meter is telling me to eat 1,150 calories. I know they say not to eat less than 1200 i've read that before but thats what the meter thing is telling me to take in.
If you dont mind, share your stats - height, weight, age, and any activity you do (workouts, move around during the day, sedentary/desk job)
I'm 5'1, 148 pounds, and 22 years old. I go to the gym every other day. When I go I do an hour workout on the treadmill, eliptical, or bike. Then I will do some crunches. According to the treadmill I burn about 400 calories. The days that I dont work out I should eat 1,200 then then days I do work out I should tak ein more calories right? I dont know. This is what I've ate today though tell me if its good:
breakfast- 2 cups of coffee with splenda, lite creamer 2 egg whites, sugarfree applesauce
snack- 1 cup of fiber one cereal
lunch-chicken and frozen veggies
snack- special k bar
haven't had dinner yet but prob a salad
If you were completely sedentary, you'd burn about 1650 or 1750 a day. Your exercise bumps it up to between 2000-2100.
My recommendation - don't eat less than your BMR (what you'd burn in a coma - even lower than sedentary), which according to one formula is 1370, according to another is 1470... so... don't eat less than about 1400 give or take, regardless of exercise.
On days you exercise, and burn 2000-2100, I'd recommend eating closer to 1500-1600.
I don't really like looking at people's menus - I have no idea how much chicken you had, how it was cooked, or what will be in your salad, so I won't even try to guess how many calories that is. Log it all, and see how you are doing.
But just as important as not eating too much is not eating too little.
Good luck.
Can particular foods increase testosterone levels?
One small study showed licorice may reduce levels of testosterone in men. Alcohol is also known to lower libido but, otherwise, testosterone... Read more
