how much do you aim to burn?
how many calories do you aim to burn when you exercise? i know personally that if i aim to burn over 500 a day, i'll notice a difference, but anything less than that is pathetic for me. lately i've been hitting 3-400, but i want to try and do 300 2 times a day...
2 years ago i would do about 250-350 in the morning and then 350-400 in the afternoon and damn i was in fab shape.
how about you guys?!
I aim for no less then 500. Which on my non cardio days it is slightly hard. I usually have to take a 30 min walk or something to get it up to my 500. On my jogging days though it isn't a problem. I usually burn closer to 800 on cardio days.
Not really aiming for anything, but I usually burn anywhere from 300 to 1300, to 2000.
UD
I usually aim to burn 750, which is no problem when I run, but on days I'm not feeling good (like the past week) I let myself slide by with 400.

Just curious...what do you do to burn 800 calories?
Just remember that everything is an estimate, and the number of calories that a person burns during an activity depends in part on the size of that person, so it can be difficult to compare.
I have no idea how to calculate the number of calories I burn. I know I probably burn more than I think I do. On most days I work out for 25 min in the morning and 40 minutes at lunch. But I'm on the go all day 4 am until 9 pm...so I think I burn a ton, but I calculate that I burn 500 calories in just exercise alone almost everyday. Probably more on the weekends when I go for my 9 mile runs.
If you log your activities on calorie count, it gives you an estimate for how much you (at your size, if your info is up to date) burn doing that activity for however long. But it usually means you have to say if your walk was "leisurely" or "moderate" or "vigorous," and your definition of those is different from mine... so it's all just an estimate.
Yes, but I just don't see how it's right. Most days after I log all my exercise it says I burn almost 2700 calories...there is no way. I've heard it before that when you are in shape you tend to burn less...so I'm guessing I fall into that catagory. I asked santa this year for a HRM...maybe that will help me a bit more.
On the days that I burn close to 800, I work out for 90-120 minutes. Jog for an hour and then walk and/or jump rope, too. I have been aiming for 1500 minutes of exercise this month and I take the weekends off so the only way to get to my goal is to work out for that long on the weekdays. My jog alone will get me like 400-500 and then if I jump rope for 15 minutes (thats about all I can do) that is another 150 and if I finish it off with walking that'll get me to almost 800. I know all of it isn't necessary accept to reach my minutes goal and I also do it so I can eat a little bit more in a day.
i definately have to agree with you on the working out more to eat more. id workout forever if it meant i could eat certain things!!!
