Why not?  Unless you like censorship and abuse of our Constitution......

This is the Lounge forum.  We discuss anything and every thing.

Here's a tidbit for you that proves that people who live in glass houses should not throw stones.  http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22425001/vp/27092 691#27092691

Say it ain't so, Joe!

^^ Claire, thank you soo much for that post. I sent it to one of my friends who will not shut up about the whole Ayers thing...

"he excuse came out on CNN, released about an hour ago. It basically says that this was a partisan (read democratic) attack on her and since they couldn't find proof of criminal wrong doing they had to find some way of making her look bad."

Really now so McCain is getting on to democrats for making the republican candidates look bad???? Now isint that calling the kettle hott..or..something..idk..lol however that went..

Can we say "political adds".."11 million dollars worth of negative ones in a week"

There's plenty of guilt by association to go around, and it's all irrelevant.  McCain is using this tactic because he knows he has nothing else.  If he can't show his own ideas are better, then the only way to win is to make the other candidate look as bad as possible.  Every single one of McCain's recent ads have been negative.

In his own words, as pointed out in a different thread by a CC member

"Uh, I, I just have to rely on the good judgment of the voters not to buy into these negative attack ads. Sooner or later, people are going to figure out if all you run is negative attack ads you don't have much of a vision for the future or you're not ready to articulate it" - John McCain, Feb 21.

He knows he's wrong and he's doing it anyway.

Sarah Palin missed her calling as a member of the Bush cabinet.

She would have fit right in with the folksy born-again former oilman Bush, the secretive VP who avoids the media at all costs, and Alberto Gonzales, who broke the law by firing attorneys who didnt prosecute people against whom he had personal political vendettas and then denied having done so.

I am so tired of hearing about Ayers.  Judging someone based on who they associate with.  With that kind of thinking is that?  Based on that then if one of your former friends from high school bombed a building then you'd be judged harshly because you were friends with them years ago.  But if we are judging someone based on the past then lets not forget the Keating Five Scandal McCain supporters.

I've been drinking and all I'm gonna say is shut up.

Obama worked with Bill Ayers on education reform in Chicago.

Get over yourself. Seriously.

Wow, that video is powerful. If McCain continues the Ayers thing I hope Obama picks this up.

I am truly shocked by some of the people I thought were halfway intelligent  who then go and support Sarah Palin defending every false statement that she makes, how she disgustingly injects hatred and racism into this election.

A bipartisan legislative panel found that she did in fact unlawfully abuse her power, what more do you people want? You fall for the cutesy talk and winking and believe lies over facts? Do you really think that she is "one of us" Is that what the apeal is? Or I hear you say she's a maverick, mover and shaker, took on her own party blah blah... BUT where are any real examples or reasons? I guess I just don't get it. She has painted her self as a "maverick" who will help McCain clean up Washington?REALLY? Ha! I guess more backroom deals and abuse of power will really clean things up for the better! Stop insulting my intelligence and be straight forward with your real reason for being so against Obama.

I would be highly surprised if they did - the Obama campaign has almost entirely allowed the media to raise the falseness of lies thrown their way from the McCain camp and I bet they have plenty more proof of hypocrisy than this link.

When the Obama camp does address something of the past, its always seems to be for an actual reason other than to try to tear at someone's character like pointing out previous voting records on things like the economy and Bush budgets.

I'm going to apologize for this. I was drinking the sauce last night... oops.

I'm 100% sober (shocking, I know) and I just have this to say:

Someone needs to rocket Sarah Palin right into the sun. I wish 1000 plagues on her house.

ROTFLMAO!

Probably.  and now we've scared the poor girl off.  Margaret!  Come back!   I promise we are not all that bad  Innocent

But yes, the lounge is, indeed, the one place on Calorie Count where all most subjects are free game.

I just found this timeline of the Palin investigation. Here's the latest on her denial of wrongdoing.

I agree with Spiro. The woman needs to be rocketed to the sun.
