alcohol.
You CAN but it does take a few days of your weight coming up for it to get back down. Your body gets dehydriated. At least that's what I've seen happen.
Also note that some drinks have TONS of calories in them, while others are on the lower side of calories. 2 of my favorite drinks are Captain Morgan and Diet Dr Pepper, and Sprite ZERO with Crown Royal. Approx 150 cals for a 2 shot drink.
Recently I discovered that some drinks have TONS of calories. I always thought the higher alcohol content was the most "bang for your buck" but after finding stats on high alcohol content liquor, the higher the count, the more calories.
For instance:
1oz shot of Bacardi Razz is 63 calories
1oz shot of EVERCLEAR is 191 calories. Yipes!
Also note: Alcohol increases the want to EAT. So if you have any problem with binging, I'd try to stay un-tossed :)

Having said that there will be someone along soon to tell you that they chug down several beers every night and have lost 50lbs.... Always happens.
most likely guys can get a way with that.
i try to drink diet coke & barcardi if im out at a pub/bar and no one will get me sparkling water (i live in ireland).
but wine is my bane & the worst part is the appetite stimulant. food & wine just go so nicely together. just do it in moderation & try to only have it on special occasions. i try anyway but it doesn't always work.
It seems you should be able to drink and lose weight if your calorie count is where it should be. But, I'm finding that I just can't drink and lose the weight, even when I stay within my calorie count. I love wine too but I've decided to heavily limit when or if I drink.
dose alcohol slow down your metabolism?
I try to avoid alcohol, because it makes me sick to my stomach (even when I only have a single drink, for some reason) and it makes me binge. :( I typically only really drink once or twice a year...
I've read in a few places lately that when your body has alcohol in it, it switches all efforts over to metabolizing the booze. Once the booze is gone, then it returns to foods and stored fat for energy. That one really got me. I've reduced my intake from a glass (or two) of wine each night, to about six ounces twice a week. What I don't know is how long that process takes for any amount or kind of alcohol.
Your body will burn any alcohol first for energy then fat so the next day when your excersising your not burning body fat 100% of that time.
Also, the day after drinking you might register a loss on the scales but your body will be dehydrated! Hence that is where the 'loss' is from - water.
Why do I get bad cramps after I eat?
Suspect lactose intolerance when abdominal cramps are a problem, especially after breakfast when milk products are consumed. Lactose... Read more
