I think it depends on what your goals are. If you are trying to lose weight, I think a glass of wine now and then won't hurt, but on a daily basis, there are probably better ways to spend those calories. If you are trying to maintain your weight, I don't think it will hurt at all, unless it gets out of hand. Some literature suggests it has some specific health benefits - when used in moderation.

I think it is fine in moderation. I still drink wine or beer almost every weekend and I do count the calories whenever I use beer/wine/liquor in stews/roasts, etc.

Though, me drinking almost every weekend- not sure if that is "HEALTHY" but I try to eat clean 90% of the week so it's my "treat" instead of cake, brownies or ice cream, heh.

'Occasional' is fine... Not just for weight-loss but for general health reasons.

I have become quite a heavy drinker over the past few years and as a result I have gained a ton of weight and haven't been able to get it off. That being said, having a glass of wine everyday is actually recommended by doctors for heart health but no more than 1 a day and I think for men it is 2. Alcohol in small quantities is fine, it's when you go over board and start binging that you will run into trouble. So, don't worry about it! :)
