All-Bran Extra Fiber *shudders*
Does anybody here ever combine a very high fiber, very twig-like cereal like All-Bran Extra Fiber with another cereal of their choice? I've found that All-Bran is pretty hard for me to eat even with a banana cut up and mixed in with it, and I considered just mixing some in with my Kashi Go Lean Crunch (Honey Almond Flax) just to up my fiber intake some more.
All-Bran Extra Fiber has 13g of dietary fiber in 1/2 a cup, and this Go Lean Crunch has 8g per cup (though I actually found a whole cup pretty hard to eat, too...not at all because it doesn't taste good, but because it's just such an intense cereal...my mouth actually got tired chewing it all after a while), SO, I thought about just mixing 1/2 a cup All-Bran with 1/2 a cup Kashi which would make it 17g of fiber and a whole lot more enjoyable than just straight All-Bran.
Anyway, to try and make an already long story short, does anyone ever mix their cereals like this? Just curious! I only just recently switched to healthier cereals (I was a Cheerios girl prior to this) and wondered what your take was!

I hate my all fiber cereal... I buy it with great intentions... it sits on my shelf most of the time and I take fiber supplements instead...
HOWEVER... when I can make myself do it... I mix it with light yogurt as opposed to milk, and that makes if more palatable to me.

I love Fiber One and regular All Bran -- haven't tried AB Extra fiber. I think mixing it with a cereal you like better, or with yogurt, is a great idea.
i love all bran extra fiber..keeps me regular ...yay! haha..i put blueberries and some agave nectar on top for some flavor since its pretty bland..also i use vanilla soy milk
I love all bran extra fiber cereal. I really love it. I have half cup with some soy milk and I add some blueberries and / or strawberries. Try to keep the cereal in the milk for a few minutes before start eating.
Yeah, I bought some of that extra fiber stuff... tried to eat it like cereal, but it was so icky and tasted so much like cardboard that now I just keep it in my cupboard and use it for bread crumbs. it works nicely that way. But mixing it with other cereal would probably work too.
I mix them all the time! I actually really like mixing the Vanilla Almond Crunch cereal from Trader Joes with Fiber One. And I do the Go Lean Crunch also. THat's pretty much my standard breakfast, one of those.
I LOVE all bran!
I just like it soggy, so all I add it a few tbsp of water, and I eat up. It tastes sweet to me as it is so I don't really feel I need to add anything else to it.

I like my Fibre1 every morning, I happen to like it crunchy, but a coworker of mine who likes it too but without the crunch lets it sit in the milk for some time, then it doesn't hurt your jaw at all since it's soft....but that depend if you ilke soft cereal!
Fiber one bars-mmmmmmmmmmmmm
Fiber one bars with coffee that includes coconut cream creamer......
RUN TO THE BATHROOM!!!!
That much fiber had somewhat of a "cleansing" effect on me....

I eat this for breakfast everyday. All-Bran and Kashi Go Lean. I like it. If I'm out of Kashi, I'll substitute 1/4 cup of granola in its place.
I love Fiber One with yogurt.
Thanks for all the great responses! I thought about mixing it with yogurt as some of you suggested...think I'll give it a try tomorrow!
I never knew reading about high fiber breakfast cereals could be so entertaining....thanks for the laughs!!!
As has already been suggested, more for your Kashi GLC "chewing" dilemma, LOL, try mixing with yogurt. I also did a little "Hmmm, wonder what would happen if . . . ?" the other day and mixed roughly equal parts (about 1/3 cup each) Kashi GLC, vanilla yogurt, chopped banana, and soy milk together and stirred it all up. It was sort of like a cereal, sort of like a snack. It was very filling and, particularly if you used slightly larger portion sizes, and/or used a Kashi/All-Bran combo, just imagine the fiber in that one bowl . . . Whoa boy! Oh, and it tasted awesome!
i always mix all bran extra fiber with kashi go lean and add berries and soy milk... its very good and you get a pretty big portion even if u only do 1/2 cup each and togther it comes to less than 200 cals
